Even Kino Makoto is not always queen of all things domestic. Today, for example, she is puzzling over a satin party dress on which an intricate pattern has been created with sparkly decorations. Unfortunately, half the pieces seem to have become unglued, and she is now randomly placing them around the dress, trying to figure out how to fix the ( Read more... )

"Hey, that looks really good!" Kino Makoto beams a cheerful smile at a girl who looks remarkably like her transformed senshi self... without the senshi fuku. The fact that this doesn't make her bat an eye suggests she's gotten used to the nexus.

Want help, Mako-chan? There's a very handy seamstress here to help!

Given the givens, Mako faces her double with more calm and pleasant surprise than, well, panic or confusion. It's been a while, but as far as the Nexus goes it could be far worse. She waves her double over with a cheerful smile, accustomed already to this version of herself.

"Do you think so?" She fumbles at the pieces again, looking a little sheepish but pleased at the compliment. "Uh... Mako-chan is okay, right?"

"Ah- sure!" Her alternate is not some bratty, overly forward little girl who embarrassingly turned out to be Luna. "Mako-chan is fine."

She takes a second look at the sewing project. "Want help? It looks like it's pretty tricky right now."

2D!Mako is far past surprise by now and is fully cheerful as she nods invitingly at the suggestion. "I told Minako-chan that I would try to fix it, but it's - " she gestures at the problem area, spilling little shiny pieces of beads and stuff on the satin. "Some of the beads have fallen off, so it's difficult to make it look good again."

"Oooh, that looks pretty." Usagi, of course, is well aware this could be the nexus. But that's not going to stop her from admiring the work Mako-chan is doing.

Now there's a familiar voice. Mako is holding the dress somewhat-awkwardly as she attempts to turn without spilling any of the pieces she's already set in place. "Ah, Usagi-chan!" It may not be her own Usagi, but when is seeing the cheerful girl ever a bad thing? "Do you really like it?"

"I think it looks great," Usagi enthuses. "You want a hand with it?"

It's been a long day, and Mizuno Ami is unwinding by working on a sewing project. Her needle works deftly in and out of the fabric while she lets her mind relax by reflecting on whatever thoughts cross it.

Suddenly, she's working on her sewing somewhere else. She notices immediately, looking up sharply. Her eyes fall on Makoto and she frowns. A Makoto looking like that...

"The nexus?"

Mako notices Ami at the same moment and she, too, looks up in surprise. An Ami looking like that... well, this sure brings back memories. Mako seems a little more on guard, but definitely still friendly.

"Ah, Ami-chan! Are you also working on something?"

"I'm sorry, I'm intruding," Ami says with that usual too-cheerful ironic courtesy. She seems likely to ignore the question for a moment, but after a pause, she nods.

"I like sewing," is all she offers.

Aw. Mako can relate to the liking-sewing, at least. She shakes her head vehemently to Ami's first assertion.

"Not at all, Ami-chan! If it is the Nexus... then it can't be my space or anything, right?" She pauses for a bit, wondering if this Ami is who she thinks she is and, if so, if she wouldn't rather be left alone.

Then again, Mako is naturally curious about this sort of stuff. Her voice is soft, inviting without being too intrusive. "Being able to do something like this, for myself, or my friends - " Happy, content sort of smile. "I like sewing too."
