There's a woman who looks remarkably like Beryl watching her - if Beryl had red hair, a rather revealing keyhole-cut gown, and a tall filigreed crown. She says nothing for some time, studying the other woman as though forming her impressions of her.

"Who are you?" she finally asks.

You'll have to forgive that Beryl nearly jumps at the sound of the voice. Swerving around, she turns and....sees...herself?

She is silent for a moment, before chuckling.

"I must be losing my mind."

She gives a faintly superior smirk, perhaps privately amused by that reaction. By now it's so obvious who they are to each other. Yes, come to think of it, those sailor senshi... also had dark hair in their reincarnated forms.

"You are Beryl," she pronounces her conclusion.

"I am." She looks at her other self warily. "As are you. But, how is this even possible? And why are you wearing that clothing?"

Yes, she's still convinced she's losing her mind in some fashion. Clones with red hair and crowns don't just pop out of nowhere, after all.

"This is what I have always worn," she says, lifting her chin with that proud hauteur. "As Queen of the Earth Kingdom."

There is a moment of silence at this, before Beryl finally starts laughing, shaking her head.

"I am losing my mind," she says. "First I get letters from this guy, now there's you standing before me. I guess everyone was right, I do need a break."

At this, she finally goes into her dressing room, suitably marked "Akamine", and sits down, rubbing her head. Beside her is the opened box, roses and crumpled letter of her anonymous 'friend', known only as Mamoru Chiba. How did he know she would be there?

Chiba Mamoru? The name of Endymion's reincarnation. Her eyes widen and her nostrils flare in something akin to anger.

"That man is a man who will do you no good," she tells her alternate. "He will only lead you to suffering."

"You know this man?" Beryl frowns. "He keeps sending me these letters at home, and now, he's sending them to my work."

"He is Endymion, a nobleman of Earth," she says, still staring towards the letter and the words that would never be for her, not truly.

"We were betrothed. He found another. They have begun a war to take the rest of what I hold dear." She knows him, alright. She's just still caught between that mad passion for him and all the pain he's brought her far beyond rejecting her love.

"...Strange name." Beryl looks down. "Still, for me, it makes no sense. I've never heard of him, and there's no one who rules the whole planet, much less acts as a courtier for it."

"This is because of the nexus," Beryl proclaims. It may sound strange, but staring at her alternate's face will give the words more meaning for this black-haired Beryl.

"Our worlds are separate but have connected here."

"...As in...alternate universe?" There's the slightest gleam in Beryl's eyes. "So, in your world I really am a queen?"

"I was born as the princess of this planet," Beryl acknowledges, drawing herself to her full height.

"And I intend to rule it still as its rightful queen. Those two will not be allowed to usurp my crown."

"I see." Beryl smiles. "Well, I'm queen of a somewhat different sphere, though not in an official capacity, mind you."

The implications go right over her head; she's not really strongly part of the modern world, after all. Instead, she presumes her alternate must mean she holds some authority in some smaller country.

"What of the shitennou?" she asks. "Are they with you?"

"Shi...tennou?" No, Beryl, don't let your mind wander off all the way in that direction. "I've never heard of them."
