Quick, it will only last for one day...

Do you hear that? That is the sound of happy children, giggling and playing, mixed with the sound of soft music and karaoke.

In a tiny park in Japan, close to a certain orphanage, a festival is taking place, hosted by said orphanage. It’s something needed, after everything that’s happened to this world. And not only does it bring cheer to the attendees, some of the profits will go to making the orphanage a better place.

Stalls are arranged in neat little rows, boosting wares such as home made pottery, or freshly baked goods. Others offer games where prizes can be won if you’re lucky. All lead to a stage, people setting up. There will be a dance recital later, when the sun starts to set. To the side a karaoke competition is starting up, giggling girls, some in kimonos while other’s stick with Western style clothing, crowding around to pick their songs.

Underneath a tree a goldfish scooping game has started, little children massing around the small tub. Giggles and squeals fill the air, water being splashed despite the cooling weather. There’s a few wails too, when the poi breaks completely and the child must forfeit their place. But all the children walk away with at least two goldfish.

Hotaru sits under a different tree in her own soft pink coloured kimono, watching the games. There’s a small smile on her face, as she looks across the park before going back to her folding. Nest to her sit’s a small pile of paper cranes, as well as some more paper. She’ll just keep folding and wait until later to play the games, when there’s less people around.

Unless, of course, someone encourages her.

[[ooc: Just a basic festival really. Open to all, and thread hopping is very much encouraged.]]
