A little bit of mayhem.
The sun had set for the evening, leaving the city of Tokyo glowing against the darkened skies. Neon lights, video screens, and the occasional headlamp of a passing train all added to the aura of life that continued its hustle and bustle despite the loss of sunlight. Watching from above, it may have even seemed serene in its way, the continual ebb and flow of the masses, moving about to get to the theater, on their way home, or visiting the nearby amusement park. But serenity was not a word, or name, much appreciated by some.
Screams suddenly rang out as the lights upon Ferris wheel began to flicker and went out, the spinning motion of the ride itself halting a moment later. Soon the lights within the rest of the park began blinking out one by one. Strange blueish creatures, reflecting the slightest hint of ambient light, were slowly spreading out across the entire area, knocking over and cutting through nearly everything they came across. For the moment, it seemed as if they were avoiding direct attacks on the fleeing crowd, but there was no telling how long that would last.
