Venus smirked to herself, tossing the clear bag of crystals up and down idly. They were beautiful, shining and glinting in the dim light of the Dark Kingdom, and they were going to be the key to her greatest success to date. After tonight... Well, Beryl would be worshiping the ground she walked on! With a little whistle, the senshi sauntered down ( Read more... )

She tossed and turned, alone in her bed with nothing but the disturbing memories that plagued her... Flashes, one by one, of time spent with their so called princess, but- something was different. They were all- happy... Things she'd thought she remembered clearly now seemed as if there had been a fog all along that was now being rolled away by the truth... and she couldn't stand it.

Venus left the Dark Kingdom in the middle of the night. She had to find out why this was happening, and she had to find out now, before she was placed under Metallia's power to be healed. If anything, she knew what she always felt like after that happened- in a daze, powerful, and like nothing mattered except for getting more power. If that happened- she might never understand the nightmares that had plagued her rest.

She knew where Serenity- no, Usagi- lived. Scouting out her home had been one of the very first things she'd done after first discovering the nexus. She stood now, in full senshi regalia, outside of the cozy little building, lit only by a flickering streetlight, and considered. How easy it would be, to sneak in and kill the princess. It wasn't a new thought, but the senshi had decided not to resort to such low blows; they wouldn't be like that spoiled baby. Now though- maybe it would soothe the ginzuishou-inflicted nightmares.

When she sneaked up the tree and into the girl's room, she was surprised at what she found; Usagi was awake, her face tear streaked as she stared at her former guardian. Venus' fists clenched and she resisted the urge to immediately strike out. Answers... She had come for answers.

The conversation was short and full of horror. Venus sneered as she informed the petty princess that Endymion had been lost to her forever, and Usagi sobbed brokenly. She begged, pleaded, Venus to let him go, to take her to him, but the senshi would not be moved. Then, when that beautiful gem was formed once more at the call of the princess' tears, Venus hesitated, and it was her undoing.

When the light finally burned away all that was left of the darkness, it was not the princess who sobbed in horror at what she had done; it was the broken Venusian.
