This place...From out of a cave Vampir appears, her cloak covering her body. Though she does her best not to, she cannot help but shiver. Not just from cold, but from...a feeling of anxiety, one she could not fully define ( Read more... )

Someone who should never have been in this place, in any time or world - but who was in so many - has arrived. A young girl somewhere in her teens perhaps, she's fresh-faced and pretty, clothed in a simple dress and apron.

It's cold, she notices. She wraps her arms around herself without even thinking about it. When she sees someone nearby, she approaches them until they're close enough to be heard by each other.

"Where is this?"

(ooc: I blame you.)

Vampir swerves around to look at the newcomer. When she sees it's not a youma - actually, she looks like a normal human - her defenses lower. But only a little.

"I don't know," she replies. "I just got here myself."

A simple human, maybe, but Beryl can feel the traces of that power as if she'd always known it. No, as if she'd always wanted it. Something to set her apart from the thousands of people she blends into in Endymion's eyes. Something to put her above the princess for just that once. Something to let her be someone, not some girl lost among the shuffle of the grand and important but grand and important herself.

"We should go closer," she suggests eagerly, and surely it's just an explorer's instinct. For that matter, closer to what? She must certainly feel that power, too.

The response is a skeptical, if not suspicious, glance towards the cave. Oh, she can feel the power, whatever might remain of it. And it does not give her a pleasant feeling.

"We must be careful." She tosses her cloak, though she immediately regrets it and quickly re-covers herself. "There is an evil energy here. It's not entirely safe."

It is a fortunate fact for at least two worlds - this and Beryl's own - that these are only the vestiges and traces of Metalia, with the creature itself gone. By her eagerness, it's easy to guess Beryl would free the monster for the sake of that very same power if the question were put the right way. And Metalia is skilled at questioning.

She's still not quite that twisted, however, and this is still not Metalia itself. Beryl turns quickly to look at Vampir. "Evil?" she questions a bit nervously.

"Evil," Vampir repeats. "I'm not quite sure of it...not fully, as to what it is. But it's definitely evil. Much like the planet-destroying power of Death Vulcan, it will only consume and destroy whatever and whoever it touches. It's a horrid fate..."

She pauses. Is she somehow feeling bad for Cain?

"I don't understand any of those things," Beryl protests, but she falls quiet to let Vampir continue.

Or lead her away. Which would probably be very smart considering she's already still looking towards the source of that power anyway.

Actually, that sounds like a good idea. And it becomes a much better idea once Vampir alights upon another cave - it's a bit further than this one, but she feels the pit in her stomach dissipate when she sees it.

"Come on, that...that place looks more suitable," she points.

A nod and Beryl, accustomed to the habits of obedience to the nobility of her Earth Kingdom, follows behind Vampir. The cold is getting worse, she notices, the more they leave the first cave behind, as if only back there would she be warm and comfortable.

"The air has such a chill," she complains softly.

The cold was getting worse, but for Vampir, she feels much better as they get towards the other cave. It somehow doesn't feel quite as cold. Still, she turns and gives her...companion? a small, hopefully reassuring smile.

"We're almost there."

"What is your plan to return where we belong?" Beryl asks Vampir directly once they're out of the wind and driving snow.

Yes, it's much warmer here than outside. Or in that cave.

"The truth is, I don't have one," Vampir replies, turning away slightly. "The only thing left to do now is to wait for the Nexus to take us out of here, just as it brought us here."

Beryl would be quicker to be curious, and possibly suspicious, except that being the only two living beings apparently anywhere, it was easy to rely on each other at first glance. Or at least, for her to rely on Vampir.

"Excuse me," she says, realizing the question sounds impertinent. "Who are you?"

"I," she speaks after a moment. "I am Bloody Dracul Vampir. a king of the vampires."

As opposed to the king, which she once called herself. No, her father's still around.

That produces an immediate reaction.

"A vampire? A monster?"

(ooc: Ack! Sorry about going ahead below; I kind of thought you'd left the threads. If you'd rather I didn't thread-jack, I'll take it down. Also, feel free to join in a three-way lulz there - ahaha, you just did, yay ♥)

"Heh." At this, Vampir turns away. "Humans would think our kind as monsters. But you're wrong - and I'm only half-vampire."

As if it were a bad thing. It was always like that, prefering her father's identity even when he withheld everything it really meant. Rejecting her human side even though she knows her lack of humanity is a complete lie. Why else would she have led this woman away from danger? No, she didn't lead her away because she was worried. No, that couldn't be it.

((OOC: Naah, it's ok! Real life is kicking my ass but good, so my threads are slowing down/dropped a lot lately... x.x;;; ))
