SNAPE IS EVIL. HE'S MURDEROUS, CONNIVING, AND TREACHEROUS TO THE CORE.
There will be no moment in book 7 when he is redeemed, and all his sins are explained away as misunderstandings. He will try to kill Harry. He will try to kill those Harry loves. He will either die or suffer a fate worse than death as his just desserts. THE ENTIRE POINT OF BOOK SIX WAS: "Snape is evil, and here's why, and also here's why both Dumbledore and Harry were naive saps for believing in the bastard."
Having Snape go "Haha! Kidding! I'm actually a nice guy after all!" would be a huge emotional cheat, and terrible writing, and Rowling is simply not a terrible writer. I'm not going to sit here and say she's one of the Great Writers of Our Age, but she's not a terrible writer by any stretch of the imagination. While her books are filled with twists, there's a huge difference between a "surprising" twist and a "stupid" twist.
And I guess that's all I have to say about that.
