A/N: Because trains remind me of Kyuhyun. :)

A person should control his own fate. It was something that was often told to him by his friends. Nobody from the people around him really believed that sometimes it is fate that controls humans and not the other way around. Nobody except him.

That was until fate played with him. After that, he decided that it was stupid of him to believe in such things and promised to never let fate get the best of him. He decided it was time for him to control his own fate - and control he did.

"No, it's safe to ride a train at this time. People usually take the bus when it's the holidays. Yes I'm fin- Siwon hyung is filming and he can't - Teukie hyung! I know you're worried but I'm old enough to take care of myself. I'll call you if something goes wrong alright? You worry like Siwon. Speaking of Siwon, please don't tell him that I'm taking the train. Oh, the train's here, I'll call you later- Yes I promise to call you later!!"

Kyuhyun lowered his cap and stowed his phone back to the pocket of his jacket and carefully boarded the train. His friend's hometown is a three hour bus ride and to save time, he opted to take the train back to the city. It was almost empty except for two middle aged women on the other side of the train and a few tired-looking men who, Kyuhyun thinks, are going back to the city for work.

Using the train as transportation is a bad idea if you are young and popularly known worldwide. He was aware of that but still took the risk. Fortunately, the train was not packed with people and it looked like the people on board with him were not interested in knowing who he really was. Perfect. He could use some peace and quiet in public.

Slowly, the countryside view changed.Seven stops more and he's back in the city. He wished he could spend more time in the countryside, though, with his laptop and an internet connection, of course.

Kyuhyun smiled when he suddenly pictured Siwon complaining why he wasn't included in his trip to the countryside. "Fine, I'll bring him too."

The train stopped. A young woman boarded the train and sat a few meters away from him.

He suddenly remembered how he wanted to ride a train just to see if he would be able to meet his fated love and then their love story would be like that in the movies. But that was a long time ago. He already has Siwon - who had always insisted that he was the fated one for him, and he was already happy.

But what if he happens to meet his fated love today?

Sure he has stopped wishing and hoping for it but what if..Just what if.

Kyuhyun lowered his cap once again and closed his eyes.

"Alright fate," He silently prayed. "if someone seats next to me, during this train ride, and then starts a conversation with me.. that means she - or he - is my fated love. Yeah I know I already have a boyfriend so, I also promise that this will not affect my relationship with Siwon in any way. Got it?"

His heart raced.

"Oh, that 'fated' person should also have food with her.. or him."

Then his phone alerted of a message.

'Are you still at your friend's house?'

"Nope." Kyuhyun replied.

'Where are you?'

"Why?"

'Because I have to know.'

"Why?"

'because I'm your boyfriend'

"Why?"

'because you love me :p'

Kyuhyun tried to hold his laughter in when he read Siwon's reply and an old lady stared at him as if he had just did something illegal. He politely apologized and was about to text Siwon when the train stopped. He became nervous as people boarded the train. Trying not to make eye contact with anyone, he stared at his phone and nervously ran his finger against its smooth screen.

He got really nervous when someone walked towards his side but then moved to the seat opposite him. The train then started moving and he sighed in relief.

"I'm on my way home. See you later!" Kyuhyun hastily replied. Why was he nervous? It was just a silly wish and it's not like he was going to cheat on Siwon. Now he regretted what he did earlier and couldn't bear to look at his phone to check on Siwon's text.

Minutes passed and no one dared to sit next to him. He checked if any one has already noticed who he was but there was none. The people on the train with him were either tired or just too busy to mind other people's business. Good, he thought.

The next stop came into view and again his heart raced. He wanted to take back what he said earlier but he doubted if it would really take effect. He decided to not believe in fated meetings years ago and so his wish earlier would be nullified. But what if he still believes and he just wasn't aware of it, would it take effect? Is there a reset button when you dare challenge fate or the powers that be?

As soon as the train doors opened, Kyuhyun got up and stood at the far end of the train car - trying to avoid anyone from coming near him. It was a good timing that he stood up since quite a number of people happened to board the train at that stop. He grabbed the handle bar above him and lowered his head so as to not gain any attention. Silently, he prayed for the next five stops to be fast.

Kyuhyun stood at the corner end of the train. There were still few unoccupied seats and he wondered why a man chose to stand in front of him.

"Oh god, please don't let this be a pervert and hit on me. I really do not need that kind of attention right now." Kyuhyun closed his eyes and prayed.

Suddenly, the man moved closer to him. Kyuhyun took a step back. He heard the man snort, as if he was enjoying taunting Kyuhyun.

"If this is what fate has to offer me, then screw you fate!" Kyuhyun gritted his teeth in disgust. His thoughts were filled with the self defense techniques taught to him by Sungmin. Funny, though, he had asked Sungmin to teach him self defense just so he could use them against Siwon - when the man gets too persistent.

"Hey.." The man who was near him spoke and reached a hand towards Kyuhyun's face.

Kyuhyun quickly swatted the hand away from him. "If you ever dare touch me, I swear I'll punch you hard on the face, you sick pervert."

His voice was low and quiet yet it was filled with disgust mixed with anger. It seemed to take effect as the man stayed still, but only for a while.

"You've seen me with and without makeup, no perfect hairstyles, and still you don't recognize me?" The man laughed and raised his hand to pat Kyuhyun's head.

"Get your hands off me, you sick maniac- Hey!" Kyuhyun snapped as the man in front of him grabbed the cap he was wearing and started ruffling his hair. "Give it back you thief- i-it's you? w-wha- why're you here?"

The man in front of him smiled and playfully ruffled his hair.

"I'm not stalking you if that's what you're thinking. It so happened when I got on the train a certain familiar looking person stood up and stayed at this corner of the train. Besides, even without makeup I could still recognize you. Unlike you.." A smile sretched from Siwon's makeup-less face.

Kyuhyun, embarassed, laughed and put his cap back on. "You should've told me you're taking the train! Are you headed home?"

"Not yet. I'll be getting off three stations from here. But I'll be home after I visit the office."

Siwon had to support the two of them when Kyuhyun lost his balance as the train turned on a curve. But Kyuhyun quickly regained his balance and slightly moved away from Siwon.

"We can't in public.." He quietly said. He smiled when he noticed Siwon pouting, and then smirking.

"But there are only few people here and most of them are asleep. See?"
Siwon pointed out the snoozing passengers and proceeded in hugging Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun lightly pushed Siwon's arms away and laughed as he shook his head.

"Alright. But you should let me hug you when I get home." Siwon said.

And so, to avoid getting attention, Siwon stood beside Kyuhyun and started a small conversation in hushed voices.

"How was your trip to your friend's house?"

Kyuhyun fixed the cap on his head and stole a glance at Siwon. The taller man's face looked tired and the dark circles under his eyes have gone slightly larger. Still, Siwon smiled at him when he caught Kyuhyun staring at him.

"Uh.. it was good. We played a couple of tournaments and then his mom cooked us delicious food. And then, he told me he was going to get married to his girlfriend soon."

The last line made the smile on Siwon's face fade.

"A-and then w-we went to this place where we get to eat watermelons! See, they let me have some of the melons - but I ate half of it when we got back to his home.. and.. then.. Siwon?"

Kyuhyun worriedly pulled on the sleeve of Siwon's jacket. He knew what was on Siwon's head ever since he mentioned his friend being married. Slowly, he held Siwon's hand and their fingers intertwined.

"Stop acting. I know you're sulking just so I'll let you hold my hand." Kyuhyun whispered.

Siwon sniggered at Kyuhyun's remark. "But you still let me hold your hand.."

The train doors opened. People boarded and some got off. Siwon and Kyuhyun stayed standing close to each other at the corner, their interlocked hands hidden behind Siwon.

One couple, seated not far from them, was laughing and being very affectionate with each other. The girl has just let her boyfriend put his arm around her as he whispered in her ear.

"That's ridiculous." Kyuhyun said about the couple. "They should get a room."

Siwon laughed. "You sounded like Hyukjae just now. That's what he says when he sees us like that.." He pointed at the couple who were now kissing.

Kyuhyun's face scrunched up in disgust as he saw the couple kiss. "Blech.."

"They're just kissing, Kyu." Siwon laughed.

"I know, but Why must they do it here in public?! If we're the ones kissing then-"

"that would be the hottest thing anyone would see."

"That's righ- no! W-why would we be kissing in public?" Kyuhyun's face went red as Siwon looked at him with a raised eyebrow and a sly grin.

"No! We're not going to do anything like that in public! We c-can't.. m-maybe when there's n-no people around then i-it's fine." Kyuhyun's voice gradually becoming softer.

"Then should I throw all these people off the train at the next stop?" Siwon asked with his grin reaching his ears.

Kyuhyun sharply elbowed the man on the side, making Siwon wince in pain. "Fans should call you the evil one."

Siwon leaned in closer to whisper. "Some fans are already calling me evil, since I make them sin most of the time.. and I think you know why."

"Continue making them sin and I have to send you to the afterlife, babe."

Siwon quickly took back what he said and told Kyuhyun that it was nothing but a joke. They both laughed when their heads bumped into each other when the train stopped at the next station. The taller man checked Kyuhyun's forehead for bumps as they have hit each other's head fairly hard.

"Oh, I have to get you to the hospital fast."

"Why? Am I bleeding?" Kyuhyun asked.

"No. But I think you have gone crazy. Crazy in love with me."

With a blank and unamused face, Kyuhyun glared at him. "Die. Now." Then he walked to a vacant seat and sat. Siwon followed suit, which earned him another glare from the maknae.

Siwon was obviously in a good mood since he kept on teasing the other for the rest of their train ride. And even though Kyuhyun had to live with the lame puns of his boyfriend, he had managed to hold hands with him again. Until they came near Siwon's stop.

"What time will you come home?"

"Around ten, I guess. You don't have to wait for me if you're tired though."

"Who said I'll wait for you?"

Kyuhyun smiled and Siwon did the same. The train doors opened once again and it was time for Siwon to get off but he held on to Kyuhyun's hand tightly. Patiently he let the other passengers get off first.

"Go." Kyuhyun giggled as he tried pushing Siwon towards the door. "I'll wait for you at home."

"Promise? Even if you're tired?" Siwon looked back. Few seconds more and the doors will be closed.

"Promise. Even if I'm dead tired."

Siwon suddenly looked towards the almost empty train car. As soon as he was sure that none of the passengers weren't looking at their direction, Siwon quickly turned around and kissed Kyuhyun.

As it happened too fast, Kyuhyun wasn't able to react properly.

"We're on a train! What were-"

"I missed you. See you tonight!"

Siwon then dashed out of the train just in time, leaving a dumbfounded Kyuhyun on the train.

'Did he.. did he just.. on a train? In public?'

Kyuhyun held onto his head thinking about what would happen if someone on the train recognized them and saw them kissing. He slowly scanned the area of any signs of recognition. Seeing none, he let out a huge sigh of relief.

"That man," The strange old lady who was with him on the train ever since he boarded spoke to him.

'Crap!' Kyuhyun cursed under his breath. 'If this lady saw us then-'

"That man, he left something for you." The old lady pointed at his side.

Confused, Kyuhyun looked at the direction she was pointing at and, to his surprise, a small bag of chocolates sat beside him. He carefully checked on the package's sticker and noticed that it was given by one of Siwon's fanclubs.

Kyuhyun slowly lifted his head up and thanked the old lady.

"You two look good together." The old lady smiled and Kyuhyun's face went red again.

"I-I'm sorry ma'am, you had to see that. I really am sorry for that, that man was just too-"

The old lady waved a hand and laughed. Her laughter felt warm. "No need to apologize. I think I understand."

Kyuhyun, still embarassed, smiled at her and bowed his head at her.

"I also think that you didn't have to ask fate to show you your fated person. You already are with your fated one."

"Wha- How did-"

The old lady smiled at him as she placed a finger on her lips. "Sshh." The train signalled for the next stop and as people stood up and walked near the exit doors, the old lady was gone. Kyuhyun checked for her within the people getting off the train but she wasn't there. Nor was she still aboard the train.

Kyuhyun's phone rang.

"Hello?" Kyuhyun slowly asked.

"Did you see the chocolates I left for you? I figured you'd love those. I'm already on my way to meet with a director then I'll just drop by at the office tomorrow so I could be home early.." Siwon's voice seemed to have made Kyuhyun snap back from his experience with the old lady.

"..then we could go out, alright? Kyu? Are you listening?"

"I'm still here."

"Good! Then-"

"Hyung?"

"Hmm?"

"I think I've met my fated person on this trainride."

"What?! I thought you have stopped believing in that ever since that incident! Who's that person?! Kyu! Tell me who that is! No! Don't talk to that person! You should get off at the next stop and then take a taxi home. I could call the manager to drive you home. Where are you? Damn! I shouldn't have gotten off that station.."

Kyuhyun laughed as Siwon yelled frantically on the other end.

"Siwon hyung is stupid~" Kyuhyun said in a happy sing-song tune.

"Kyu! Don't you believe anything that person says! Just don't, okay? Kyu? Kyu!"

End.
