The past couple days have been great. This morning I played for the Drum Major audtion ensemble (Lauren got Drum Major, hooray! Not that anyone's surprised...except maybe her...) and after that, John, Grant, David, Peaches and I went to Mahogony Rock. It was really cool, and so much fun. Yay, abandoned buildings and old graveyards! Much fun.
Well, we came back to Boone to celebrate at Ruby Tuesday's, hurrah hurrah, and it too, was fun. Afterwards the boys went...um...away? and Sarah, Lauren and I went to go see Pirates of Penzance. I agreed to usher, because I'm Scottish and refuse to pay six bucks to get in, so I go in kind of late. To get to where Sarah and Lauren are sitting, I go into the second door from the front as the orchestra is playing their tuning note.
CREEEEEAAAAAAAK.
All three hundred people seating were facing forward. Every face in the hall turned to the left, except the orchestra and director, who turned to the right. The door is only about half open, so I pull it open the rest of the way and slip inside.
What follows is the longest closing of a door I have ever experienced.
SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEECHREEEEEEEEAAAAAAKclose.
The whole hall starts laughing. I hurry next to Lauren and sit down.
WHOMP.
The seat is broken. I do not fall through, but it makes a very loud noise. Luckily, most people don't hear it over the audience laughing.
**Sigh...**
