Pillow Talk

So as she drifts off to sleep, she murmurs softly "Babe, do limes have any spiritual significance?" I'm puzzled. "Well, honey, I'm not sure. Why?" She snuggles into my side. "Because I found a complete lime in the cemetery today."

She says the cutest things when she's asleep.

In an effort to make sure Cristina gets in lots of ASL practice (and for me as well), I told her that every day we'll be having at least an hour of "no voice sessions" True, I stole the idea from her teacher, but it'll be a good way to practice at home. The first session was tonight, and it was lovely. I told a story, and she understood me. She describe to me a car accident and "the jaws of life" and though I stumbled a bit through it, I eventually got everything she was saying. Considering she was driving at the time, I'll take it as a win.

It'll be nice to blog again.

FPG was such an awakening, as I expected it would be, although just how deeply, I was not aware. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher, or guide. I was told that the workshops weren't quite up to par this year, but even being the company of so many (as Brian says) "relatively like minded people" was enough of a learning experience. It was one of the seldom times I found myself the observer, not the chatterbox and I was very okay with that. There was so much to take in, that I think my brain in still processing through it all. Overall, I would describe the weekend as a literal grounding and centering.

I miss fire dancing.

I should be working on an ASL assignment right now. Gah. Fine, I'll go because she's wanting me to meet her in dreamland.
