Okay, try to work through this one. What is my ideal life?
Happy. Duh.
New Experiences. More specific.
A strong body.
A healthy, loving, connected, communicative, supportive relationship.
Nice, comfortable house. Not too big or too much maintenance.
In a place with tolerable weather (which means not freezing) and near people I like spending time with.
A porch with a view of something beautiful: Mountains, beach, a river. Even my garden. Just something beautiful.
Enough space to have a huge herb garden and a huge vegetable garden.
A room devoted to books. Shelves lining every wall, a comfy chair next to a sunny window.
A pleasant, engaging, low-stress, enjoyable job. Don't need too much money, but enough to save and take a vacation every couple of months. A job that will allow me to take time off for those vacations. I would prefer something low-stress and lenient on time off to something that makes me a ton of money. I don't need to be satisfied by my job, but I need to be content, and maybe happy, to go every day. It can even be fast-paced (engaging) as long as I don't take the stress home with me: relief as opposed to wound up. Or it could just give me time to pursue my own projects: read, paint, whatever.
Hmm...Access to good beer, books, video games, and the internet. What else do I want out of life? I'll have to think on it. This is a good start, though. If I can list them out, I can start making some goals. I think I'm finally old enough to maybe be able to tell what I want in my adulthood. Funny how that happens AFTER college.
