The Vampire Diaries 2x03 [SPOILERS]
First off: CAROLINE, YOU DARLING, DARLING GIRL <33333
Okay, I've been a big Caroline fan since the pilot, but seriously. She's getting awesome material, and Candice is knocking her character right out of the park. From her rant to Stefan about killing bunnies (and the signs of being a serial killer), to listening to Matt knock at the door while she keeps out of the sunlight, to getting Matt to break up with her (and seriously, this is Caroline, Caroline who is insecure and loves that boy too much and fought so hard to have him stay, and she made him break up with her).
Also, her scenes with Stefan were awesome (that is, not just because Caroline was in them). I don't really ship them at this point, but I do like the vibe of it so far. I love Stefan, but it was also cool to see him lighten up and goof around a bit with Caroline. I have some thoughts about how this could all play out with (presumably) Elena/Damon and Katherine/Stefan and Caroline, maybe? This had better not be Vicki Donovan again.
...I'm afraid that I won't be a constant Bonnie fan, though. She can, on occasion, really tick me off with how she treats her friends. Ie, tonight, with Caroline, who has said before that Bonnie is her best friend. I understand the issues, but at the same time, I think Bonnie is really starting to overflow with the rage at everybody--Damon, fine, he's a psychopath. Elena, last season, well, at least the girls mended fences. But I really hope there's something a little more merciful that will develop with Caroline, because I have a bad feeling about where Bonnie is headed (ie. becoming self-righteousness and a power trip), and how badly this is going to blow up in her face. I try to like her, I do; but sometimes she really ticks me off.
Damon and Elena--honestly, sweetie, you tried to murder her brother. That isn't Katherine!mind games, that's being a good person, and also not being a friend. I do sort of like these two, but they'd better still have a looooong way to go. Especially since Damon didn't see the ring; his best defence so far is that Jeremy is irritating and should get off my tv wanted to die, and that isn't a great one.
Tyler and his family. Eh. Werewolves, whatever. Time to scoop some ice cream and add chocolate. Stuff happened. And then that anti-shirts uncle guy almost killed Stefan and Caroline and maybe Matt D: (You can see my focus.)
Oh, hey, and as an aside. Matt. idk, I love him, but some of his frustration at Caroline annoyed me. Not that he wasn't reasonable in most of it, but the whole "I told you I love you, isn't that enough" and the ready-to-jump-ship attitude. It could be just leftover from, say, Vicki and his mom and even Elena as far as a "get out before it screws you over/this person isn't going to stay" type of mentality, but the whole I said I love you, so move on thing was kind of uhm. Words <<<< actions, frankly, especially when Matt was pretty clear about Caroline being his second (and possibly-against-his-better-judgement) choice. And I do adore him, but WORDS < ACTIONS, KIDDO. So hopefully when the whole vampire thing gets revealed (possibly with Caroline being awesome and saving his life, or something? I'm a romantic), he can be better about that, and we can have more of the adorableness of Caroline/Matt.
...Yes, I really am a huge Caroline fan. Katherine can be in more, too, though! I don't want Caroline to actually jump the Good ship, but Katherine and Caroline scenes will be A++ in my book just for having two awesome characters together. Also, love Katherine, but she's definitely a baddie, so I'd love to see Caroline in on the smackdown :D
