How this started is,
penny_lane_42 wrote an entry full of points of "personal canon" for certain characters in her fandoms (five per character), and it was all generally awesome, and yanked me out of my new story dithering and gave me something to do at work when it was slow (receipt paper ftw). However, this is me, the girl who wanted to write a short story,

Lera
that part of her she once shared with Devnos freezes up and reminds her of all the nearby escape routes and defensive weapons. Brilliant.
I am in love with #5. Like, I cannot even tell you.
6) There is no word, in Basic or in Na’Lein, that hurts her quite like khalan. *blushes* Obviously, I'm not a good fan because I totally don't remember what that word means.
#9 broke my heart. And I'm totally not forgiving Clayra for being so horrible to Lera!
Isra
She never saw her father again, but she has kept every one of his secrets, and remembers all of his enemies. That is soooo Isra. Wow.
#2 is mindblowing for real.
She didn’t love Gaffil. After, she compares every man she meets to her once lover, only equal. No one will measure up. (She refuses to miss him). Oh, I love that.
#6!!!!!
Jaina
Love the Jaceness in Jaina's. Oh, Jacen. *is very glad she stopped reading after the NJO*
She doesn’t know (or won’t admit) if she would have chosen differently if she had known. Ooooh.
Also, I love the Kyp one a lot. Because even though I totally and completely ship Kyp/Sanar and like Jaina/Zekk in your universe...well, you remember my original username, right? Regardless, I love the relationship between Kyp and Jaina that you created in your 'verse. It always felt right.
#9 is heartrending but just exactly right (and oh so realistic).
Krista
I'm in love with Krista's relationships with her brothers. Just perfect.
Her boyfriends always underestimate him; she only gives them one blanket warning. Ha!
But if she had had an opportunity, even knowing what the future was, she still would have shot Onyx in those days before he turned back. Twice, even. Perfect.
#11 and 12 made me squee uncontrollably.
On Ennth, everyone carries the dead with them into a better future. Lovely line.
#4-6 are too dang cute and #7 is chilling.
#11 made me tear up.
#12--again with the perfect.
EDIT: Stupid mark-up codes!

#3) thankee :D Although 777 would have changed Gantik, at the same time I always thought he'd still have a bit of that creepiness, because he's always been a borderline character, and it fits with the world--deep-seated prejudices/misogyny don't just disappear, after all. To me, it was more that he...let Sanar go (sort of, as much as he ever will), and put a leash on himself. That said, I'm pretty sure Devnos picked up on the Gantik/Sanar element, and he'd be trying to protect Lera, even if it's just by creating a reflex.
6) Sorry! I get so used to these words, and then forget that not everyone lives with Na'Lein in their head after the trilogy has finished :P Khalen refers to the Na'Lein word for "foreigner, stranger," and given the culture's distaste of outsiders, it almost has an undercurrent of "enemy." The Na'Lein xenophobic attitude would have caused a *lot* of trouble for Lera, especially once Nichyn went into politics, as a khalen connection (let alone bride) would be a liability, and some of that resentment would have lasted their entire life together. As I mentioned in the Always epilogue, Lera eventually became beloved/important enough that history barely mentioned her being a khalen, and her children were never treated any differently. But, still, definitely painful, especially when her mother-in-law would have joined in.
9) Oh, Lera. *hugs her* I think generally she doesn't care, especially as she got older, because she brought a *lot* to the table in her chosen life, but when you're the political suicide for your lover, and a gorgeous political match has to be chosen instead...well.
Clayra is completely awful to Lera, I'm afraid, and then there's the whole mess with Lera's warning message for Sanar (which, of course, Clayra disliked and put off giving to Sanar) just to make things interesting on both sides.
Isra
2) This was the first thing that popped into my head when I started on Isra's list. And then there was #6 :P
Jaina
Love the Jaceness in Jaina's. Oh, Jacen. *is very glad she stopped reading after the NJO*
Amusingly enough (or not), right after I wrote #2, I saw the last book in the new series, couldn't help myself, and read the ending that blew my mind. Jacen canon ends somewhere in NJO, if not YJK, methinks :O :p
K/J always had the groundwork for a romantic relationship in Always, and I think the potential is particularly obvious in the trauma I put them through, but life and choices just put them on different paths this time. Also, Sanar and Zekk, so ;p I'm glad you enjoyed them anyway :D
Zekk
Zekk's Ennth point (#2) started out as reasoning for the no-last-name'ness, and turned into something about his character, go figure ;p
7) It's interesting, looking back on Always, because there are so many things I would have done differently with Zekk, his turning, and his redemption, and this point in particular was a way to bridge the differences.
Thanks :D

Jacen canon ends somewhere in NJO, if not YJK, methinks :O :p *tries not to think about it* For me, Jacen canon ends after Traitor (*loves that book far more than is reasonable*). It's weird--I've almost completely turned my back on SW fandom (years and years burnt me out, and it was time to move on), but I will always, always hold an unreasonable amount of love for both Kyp and Jacen. I swear that Kyp is the reason that I got involved in fandom in the first place.
You're welcome!

Haha, I totally understand about SW burnout. I haven't read any of the new SW books since, oh, about half-way through NJO? I just had this habit of skimming all the books for Jaina, Zekk, Kyp, etc, scenes, and drifted on the other parts, and fanfiction ended up replacing the books for me, and then I was just finishing off Always :p Hey, you have Kyp, and I have Jaina and the YJK match-ups.
