30 Days of Music: Day 4

Jun 23, 2010 13:31

Day 04- A song that reminds you of something sad: "Imaginary" by Evanescence.

I just find it so sad, but at the same time, I can kind of relate to it. From what I get from it, it's about wanting to withdraw into yourself, wanting to shield yourself from reality and hide in your imagination.

When I feel depressed (which I do sometimes, hooray for Zoloft), I always find myself listening to this song. It reminds me of some rough spots in my life (which seem to be large and close together), yet the lyrics remain true to me no matter what mood I'm in.

I would pick out one lyric in particular, but there's one verse that I just feel like I can't cut, so I'm just going to paste it here.

"Don't say I'm not in touch
With this rampant chaos
Your reality
I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
The nightmare i built my own world to escape"

You should all go listen to it. It's a great song and Amy Lee is amazing. So, hop to it!
