House run down

Jun 01, 2008 22:21

Okay, here's a run down of our houses, cut in case you don't care or can't load pics :) We see Chase Run tomorrow, and Brookbank on Tuesday. The other two we haven't booked yet, probably Schuylar on Tuesday since it's in the same neighborhood, and Gilman later in the week.

Here's Chase Run. I love this house. I want to have its babies. It looked a little boxy at first, and I wasn't thrilled, but the back isn't boxy and once you see the whole house it's much better. It's got a basement, fireplace, 3 bed, 2.5 bath, fenced yard, and a sliding door to it (which makes it easy to add a dog door). Also selling for $20K less than zillow.com estimates its value at.

This is Brookbank. Nevermind the yard, it's a winter picture and they all look that way. I like it, the living room in the back has a vaulted ceiling, and there's small windows up top above the regular windows. I love windows. It's owned by the sheriff, which I assume means an auctioned house. It's got a partial basement. The neighborhood is lovely, same as the next house. 3 bed, 2 bath, partial fence.

Schuylar Road. I can't pronounce the street name, which sucks. It's split level. Blech. But the interior is nice, new carpet and paint. Fireplace in a seemly large family room. The driveway slopes down though, that might suck in the winter when the snow piles up, or when it rains. But it's cute, got lots of space. The backyard is odd though. It being a split level, the sliding door isn't exactly at the ground level, and it looks like someone forgot that because instead of building a decent deck, they pretty much threw stairs on the back of the house, just in front of the door. It's dumb looking, probably the first thing we'd fix. 3 bed, 2.5 bath, fireplace, no fence.

Square feet: 1218
Lot size: .138 acres
Price: $119,900

Gilman Road is beautiful outside, but definitely the smallest of our choices. No basement, no fence, no fireplace. But it's got a large, gorgeous deck, updated kitchen in oak and black, tiled entry. It's cute, we're still going to look at it, but I think this one's at the bottom of our list.
