There is hope.
The insurance company had deemed it "not medically necessary" but the hospital begs to differ. ( Uh duh, so do I, or else I wouldn't have had the tests done in the first place.) Hospital is going to appeal decision. They put a hold on the bill pending new decision from insurance company, and will notify me when its made. If insurance pays for it, hopefully they'll pay the 80% like they're supposed to. ( hopefully more, but I'll take the 80%) which would leave me with just a little over $307 to pay for. Big chunk of change, but will settle for that over $1535.
Also got paper work on getting assistance from hospital, either for them to pay for part of the bill or set up with a monthly payment plan, because I know there will be more bills to come as that is only from May and I had more testing done beginning of June including pap smear and dr. visits. Also Dr. referred me to a dietitian, but I told her that pending outcome of this ordeal would determine whether or not that actually happened.
On top of that, got paperwork for possibly getting on state insurance, but I don't know how that will work out as I am currently on an insurance plan. We'll see. Am going to meet with the some lady next week to sit down and talk with her about options.
Am going to fight this all that I can. Will try my hardest no matter what it takes to make it to Champlain in the fall.
Am determined to study and learn and give self an opportunity to never have to live like this in my future, will try my hardest not to let anything stand in the way.
There is hope.
