Holy Blackout
Well, the power is back. This is nice.
I was smack dab in the middle of the bigass blackout, and wasn't THAT fun. It was actually kinda cool once night came in, it was like being back in Virginia with Val and Collin and Lizzy again in a way. No streetlamps, and I could see the fucking STARS! You never see the fucking stars around here! They were so beautiful!
It was also kinda eerie though, the streetcars all dead in the middle of the streets, people with candles walking around, it was like the end of the world or something.
But it wasn't all creepy. Bars were open, people had their car stereos on, one group at a park had like a sing along going, so people made the best of it. I am kinda proud of our city, we just jumped into it, civilians helping direct traffic, and apparently there hasen't been a lot of (reported) crime that we know of.
The power came back around 5, but it was gone again by 8. The teases, ha ha ha. It's just been WEIRD. gramma has the tub, sinks and bottles and buckets of water filled just in case the water goes, because the power might be going on and off for awhile. I hope not, that would annoy me, but what can you do?
Anyway, I am going to enjoy my time with power while it lasts and pray it stays.
