It's all so strange. See, when I first joined the ranks of the Internet, it was done as a closely-guarded secret. No one in real life knew I wrote fanfiction, and everyone was happy that way. Some knew I wrote, but had no idea what. I have no idea why I was so nervous at all, really, because in the end, they're my friends - they weren't about to poke me about it. And why should they, especially when a majority are just as cracked as I am?
And so, I kept my secret. But eventually, one of my friends started talking about this wonderful site called "deviantART" and how she wanted to join. Since I already knew the place quite well by then, I encouraged her, and decided to let her in on my daily hobby. T'was great, really. :)
As time went on, I found another person on dA that I knew, who'd actually been around longer than I had. We now had a trio, and our little trio even split off a little from the main group. Eventually, that evolved into four of us, when a fourth person decided they'd like to join in, too.
And, in the past three days, I've discovered three more people I know in real life - who're even in my group - who have a dA. One has been around for a long time, another's been around for about five months, and the other's been on for two weeks or-so.
I love it, to be honest. It's a little daunting at the same time, but I still love it. I suppose after all this time hiding the fanstuff, it really feels good to be able to ramble to friends who know what I'm talking about it, without (unnecessarily, might I add) having to worry about the strange looks. It's just... nice. :)
