1. How often do you tend to get sick with an acute illness (i.e., leaving out an chronic conditions you have that you deal with every day)?
Pretty much whenever one makes its way through the house. We are a good family and tend to share our happiness and our misery. I would say a good 2 to 3 times a year, give or take.
2. What type if illnesses do you tend to get (respiratory, digestive, etc.)?
Usually it's some sort of cold/respiratory thing. But they're nasty when I get em. Puts me to bed for a good couple of days. Oh and when the 24 hour stomach thing goes around I'm usually retching from that every half an hour. But luckily I haven't had that one in a couple of years. I hear it's back though and making its way through my school.
3. How do you like to be dealt with when you're sick? Do you like to be left alone, or do you like lots of attention?
I generally like to crawl into bed and watch movies while I fall in and out of consciousness. I do like to be babied a fair amount. That translates to checking on me a few times a day asking what someone can do for me. *you can hand me that pacifier over there, please*
4. Do you tend to take or avoid medications? Any particular ones that you love or hate?
I ALWAYS take meds! ALWAYS! I can usually feel when a cold is going to be a COLD OF DOOM and I get to the doctor right away. So much so that sometimes he questions why I'm there. He doesn't understand that if I don't head whatever it is off at the pass it will be all consuming in about two days. *Steve can testify for me* If it's a sinus infection that I don't need antibiotics for I usually take Dayquil in the day and Nyquil at night. Those two over-the-counter meds are AMAZING! They work SO well for me. Clear things up immediately. Also Advil Cold and Sinus. In the States you have to show your license to buy it because it contains some ingredient they use to make crystal meth. You have to be over 18 or they won't give it to you. UH...like the majority of crystal meth labs are run by kids under 18? They are a bit misguided there, but whatever. I take regular old Advil for aches and pains...and just about anything else. Lose an arm? Take 3 Advil. That's the running joke anyway. OH...and for coughs, Robitussin DM or whatever Robitussin says it will clear up whatever symptoms you have. That stuff is the pimp shit! If you have one of those dry coughs that keeps everyone up at night, take that stuff and it'll be gone in 10 minutes. Honestly it's awesome! EVERYONE!! MEDICATE!!!
5. Are you sick right now?
I'm still coughing from the upper respiratory thing I've had for the last month, but not badly. No keeping me up at night or anything.
