I want to write a long detailed post about the wedding over the weekend. It was such an awesome day full of love, family and friends. However, I don't have time for that this morning because I'm taking Kelsey and her roommate Jess to Toronto to check out a few sights.
I DO want to talk about how wonderful it was to take my first bike ride of the year this morning! YAY!!! Like an old friend, it felt like we never took a break. I filled up her tires to 80 psi, strapped on my helmet and gloves and took off to the trail that leads me to a golf course, that leads me to a HUGE hill by some farms.
psychedelicbike and I went that route on our way out to Elora last year. I figured it would be a good start to ride that every morning to get used to the large hills I will encounter this season.
psychedelicbike will be amused by the fact that I only made it to the golf course. I quickly became twisted up in it's many roads that off-shoot each other and carry golf carts of people to their next hole. I thought I was going in the right direction for a bit until I turned a corner and found myself doubling back. EEP!!
There was a groundskeeper nearby so I stopped and admitted that I was lost and asked for help to get back to the trail. She knew of what I spoke, but ended up directing me back to the beginning of where the trail begins so I just went home from there. I might've soldiered on if I didn't have to get back to leave for the city. Tomorrow I'll try again.
Man did it feel WONDERFUL to have that cool breeze whipping through my hair. The slight burn of my calves as I adjusted to peddling again....laboring for breath as I'm so out of shape. I LOVE IT!! YAY!! MY BIKE IS HOME!!!!
