More about Pirates

After watching the trailer a dozen times I need to make another post. Firstly, I absolutely LOVED what they did with Keira Knightly's character in the second movie. They brought her innocent, token hot girl act around to be a bit questionable. By the end of the film she was believable as a pirate and I thought that change in her character was a PERFECT segue to hooking her up with Cap'n Jack. Depp and she have SO much more chemistry than she and Bloom. I LOVE when her character is edgy and untrustworthy. I believed that she and Jack could be the pirate couple of the seas.

It seems that we get our answer in the third installment where she chooses Bloom over Depp. I mean COME ON! That's so unbelievable. *I can hear Steve now..."that's unbelievable? How bout the whole storyline itself!" hee hee* Ok, that's fair...but in fantasyland, I want Depp and Knightly's characters to exhibit that passionate chemistry where they couple together to commit seedy deeds all over the Caribbean. I want them only to be true to each other. I want to watch them be the only ones on the inside of what they have and the rest of the world vulnerable to their plundering. Let Bloom go back to where he came from and make swords. He's too "good" for me. Ah HAH! I just hit on it. I like the bad boy. *sigh* Only in theory these days. I swear. The idea of being a pirate is romantic and exciting. The idea of a sexy union of pirate man and woman takes it to a new level.

The other thing I know I'm going to LOVE in this third installment is the sword fight between Davy Jones and Depp. I don't know why I'm not being consistent with names versus character names in this post but there you have it. The fight looks extensive and well choreographed. Even the small excerpt of it in the trailer got me REALLY EXCITED to see it.

OH GOOD LORD, I feel a SQUEEEEEeeeee coming on. SQUEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

I can't wait for May 25!
