Just real quick
Cause it is a little late and I need to go to bed for church tomorrow. But, there are a couple of things I wanted to put down before I go to bed.
First would be that I had a volunteer meeting this evening for SanJapan, and it was totally awesome! It looks like it's going to be pretty good, and I'm really excited to volunteer. I got assigned to Con-Ops which is apparently one of the easiest jobs to volunteer for. I do need to go the day before con to help them set up, but if it looks like I mesh well with my department head she said she would consider keeping me on as staff for future cons so she could actually get a staff crash space at the hotel in the future. I would love to do it! It'd give me some place to keep my stuff, and go to change if I want to cosplay.
On a related note. I'm going to see if I can make 2 costumes in less than 2 weeks. lol I know, it sounds crazy. BUUUTTTTT here is the thing. One is for me, and one is for my sister. We'd be going as Black and White mage respectively from Final Fantasy. The costume designs are kinda more based on Final Fantasy 1 with a sort of slight Tactics influence. We'll see if I am able to get it done. I'm probably going to need to buy a new pattern size for myself, I can use the one I have for my sister, but only because I bought them a loooong time ago. So, I need to get one for my current size. I'm a little excited since they are really simple dresses, so I should be able to do it in a couple of days per dress. The longest part I can see is probably going to be making my hat, and sewing on the triangle patches for my sister's.
On a final BJD note, I still need to work together what she's going to cost in the long run. I did however spend some time on working on names. I am a little torn right now between using names from Greek origin or Japanese origin. The way I went about it... I figured I could possibly get a male down the line to have a couple, and since they would both have pointed elvish ears I wanted the names to have a meaning related to forests or nature. So here's what I came up with:
