I can't wait to see where you're going to take this! Is this set after the Kiss story?

Yes, this takes place after "Just a Kiss." All my stories for "Moonlight" are written in chronological order. This one might be able to stand alone a little more than the others, with only occasional references to what has gone before. I'll have Chapter 2 up soon. Hope to hear from you then. Thanks for posting!

WHAT!? Mick was a vampire hunter? Totally did not expect that one. Can't wait to see where this goes. And could you please enlighten me about what mstake Lucas made in killing off Padme? I have seen all of the movies (my seven year old is a HUGE star wars freak) and I guess I missed something. Now it is bugging me.

Glad I took you by surprise! Don't worry, all will be explained over the next two chapters. I've really had fun writing 1960's Josef and Mick, lol.

As for StarWars--I know not everyone is a big nerd like me, so I'd be happy to explain what I meant, if you'll bear with me, lol. In "Return of the Jedi," Leia and Luke have this conversation about how Leia remembers her mother, that she was beautiful and sad. Then, in "Revenge of the Sith," they KILL Leia's mother. It was clearly a change of plan. I know they tried to smooth it over by saying Leia had an adoptive mother, but I don't buy it that it was Lucas's plan all along. As much as I loved the first three movies (the second trilogy, not so much), Lucas was guilty of doing this time and again. I could give you other examples, but you're probably bored already. Hope this helped--oh, and May the Force be with you and your totally cool StarWars child!

I'm loving the new story, but I did notice a couple of typos:

Beth says to Guillermo, early on, that Mick had told her his ring was a memento, but you've written "A momento." (Should be two E's and only one O in 'memento' -- just like the title of the Guy Pearce movie.)

I looked little guiltily at the DA’s office building... -- There's an indefinite article missing there (should be "looked a little guiltily...").

Thanks. The old spell checker was obviously not working right.

Those spell-checkers never flag the missing words or the 'not quite the right word' occasions.

Meanwhile, I loved Mick and Josef's discussion (brought back fond memories of Angel and Spike with their 'cave men vs. astronauts' argument in AtS season 5, only without the dark overtones), and I'm definitely on Josef's and Beth's side with the idea that Padme's death conflicted with that conversation between Luke and Leia about her memories of her real mother in "Return of the Jedi". Lucas might be the god of his universe, but this god has had occasion to retcon the heck out of his 'holy writ' on many scores.

On the other hand, I remember thinking at the end of "Empire Strikes Back" way back in 1980 that Lucas was clearly setting up Leia as the person Yoda had meant when he told ghost!Obi-Wan 'there is another.' However, I don't recall thinking she might be Luke's sister, necessarily. It's just fortunate that Luke and Leia never went further than a couple of fairly innocent kisses, I guess!

LOL--I figured you would catch my homage to Spike and Angel's argument. As for "Empire," I actually wrote a fanfic back when I was about thirteen, waiting for "Jedi" to come out. I decided the "other" had to be Han! Seriously, there were other examples of Lucas changing things up and going back on things (like in "Jedi" when Luke confronts the image of Obi-Wan about how HE lied about Vader killing his father, lol). I'm still a HUGE fan of the original series, and it was fun being able to mention it in my story.

Thanks for reviewing. Chapter 2 should be up in a few minutes.

I absolutely adored the conversation about Star Wars, it was pitched perfectly and the show writers wouldn't have been able to do it any better!

Mick a self-hating vamp hunter turned vamp - sounds about right knowing him! lol
The plot thickens................

Thank you--big StarWars nerd here! I'm glad you can see this would be in character for Mick. Some readers are having trouble with the idea of him hunting vampires. My take is, as a private investigator, he kills bad vamps all the time--how is this much different? Hope you keep reading and reviewing!
