ABILITIES: There are two parts to Yin's abilities: her abilities as a doll and her abilities as Izanami.
Yin, as a doll, was given an observer spirit. She can send this spirit through any medium of water and is able to observe her surroundings. This power can only work if she herself is in the presence of water. Due to the 30% limitation, Yin's ability as to how far she can send this spirit is drastically reduced. It was indicated throughout the series that she could send this spirit as far as she wanted to. Here, in Ceriu, she will only be able to send it within a 10 mile radius.
Izanami, Yin's evolved observer spirit, is much more deadly. Izanami has the ability to control a contractor and have them kill themselves. Yin doesn't have any control over this ability whatsoever. However, Izanami tends to come out only when Hei is around and in danger. But there have been indications that Izanami can come out whenever the hell she feels like. With the 30% limitation, Izanami will feel more restricted and probably won't pop out as much as she would like to. As to her killing contractors - it's obvious that Izanami won't be able to do that anymore. The most she could probably do is injure them and damage a few internal organs but nothing that would actually kill them.
PERSONALITY:
Yin's personality is quite complex as it is something that changes as she "evolves".
As a blind child, Kirsi would not always understand certain things, like how to put "emotion" when playing a song on the piano. But she was always good at sensing her environment and surroundings, like when the moon would come out. She was also good at picking up other people's emotions, like her mother's and her piano teacher's affair. When the Gate appeared and Kirsi evolved into Yin, she seemed to have become emotionless. She also lost her ability to make decisions as she was programmed to do that. Yin could only take orders and execute them. Yin did as she was told without any question.
But even that seemed to change the more she hung out with her comrades - especially with Hei. When she temporarily lost her observer spirit and was on the run with her piano teacher - she began to realize that she was no longer Kirsi. She had started to become attached to Hei and the other members of her team that she no longer saw them as just teammates. No, they had become her comrades. Comrades that she wished to help and be close by. So she chose to continue to identify herself as Yin when she returned to team, leaving Kirsi behind along with her piano teacher.
Yin is usually quiet and calm in most situations. She thinks rationally and reasonably, which often makes her humorless. Despite seeming to be emotionless, Yin is quite capable of feeling. She has often shown great concern for her teammates as well as their safety. She also often tries not to get other people involved in her problems and situation. However, should someone else get involved, she does stay by their side and does, to the best of her abilities, keep them out of trouble. However, she is not really good at this as she's not very good at making her own decisions and tends to follow what other people tell her to do.
However, just because she can feel emotions doesn't mean she fully understands them herself. This often leads to Yin questioning about certain things, like why people smile, but usually she will not voice these questions. One thing she can understand is who will do her harm and who will not. Whether it is because she is blind that she is more alert about her surroundings or it's because of her Doll abilities, Yin can often tell who will try to harm her and will try to get out of that situation as best as she can.
Though Yin had left her identity as Kirsi behind, there were still certain qualities that she had retained - such as her ability to pick up what other people were feeling, especially Hei's. She was soon able to tell what Hei was thinking, what Hei felt, and it made her want to help him even more, so much as to even go against orders to help him aid a friend in escaping with a doll they were after. She's even gone so far as to put herself in danger in order to help Hei out. As Yin's observer spirit evolved even further, Yin became more attached to Hei - so attached that when he could have disappeared, Yin called out to him, begging him to not leave her. She even had her evolved spirit to pull him out from the Gate just so she could not lose him.
Yin's attachment to Hei soon led to obsession. When she is with Hei, then everything is okay. However, as soon as anyone else manages to grab Hei's attention, then she becomes unhappy and overprotective of Hei. She becomes weary of anyone who comes close to Hei and would not even hesitate to spy on them with her ghost should she become suspicious of them.
Yin's obsession with Hei (and probably alongside his ability) led to the evolution of "Izanami". Izanami is a whole other side of Yin's personality. She is the opposite of what Yin is. Izanami is a complete bitch. She has no problem messing with others and fucking with other people's brains. She doesn't hesitate in taunting someone or provoking them - in fact, she gets much joy out of it. She especially loves messing with Hei and is quite obsessed with him. For Izanami, Hei is nothing but a toy to her. In her mind, Hei had wanted her change and she did. Izanami doesn't really care about the consequences of her actions unless they get her two things: 1) Hei's attention and 2) Satisfaction.
Though Izanami likes to mess around with Hei, she really despises it if anyone else tries to harm him. In fact, there were several occasions when she has come out when Hei was in danger and killed the contractor that could have done him harm. She either does this because Yin deeply cares for Hei or she, herself, has a sense of care for him as well.
