The good, the bad, and the rest

Wow, a real entry. It's been a while. Hi everyone!

I attended my first Dragon*Con over the weekend. Despite the fact that it was WAY too crowded on Saturday (like, panic attack inducing levels of crowded) overall I had a really good time. I got to shake John Barrowman's hand, watch him and Scott drop their pants and show off their Superman and Batman underwear to a crowd of thousands of fans, see Grant Imahara (who is utterly adorable and I love him more than ever now), attend a live recording of the Skeptics Guide to the Universe podcast, go to a geeky panel about exoplanets (SCIENCE!), and see the cast of the Guild all together at the Geek and Sundry panel (man, Jeff Lewis and Sandeep Parikh are funny). I also got to hang out with friends, eat lots of good food, check out amazing cosplay, spend more money in the dealers rooms than I should have, and generally just enjoy myself.

The bad part is that I cought a lovely case of concrud just in time to fly home cross-country. My head is currently completely full of nothing but snot, my ears won't stop popping, I've worked my way through an entire box of Kleenex in less than 24 hours, and no amount of NyQuil seems to be making a dent. Flying with a head cold is sheer misery, let me tell you. Fortunately, I don't work again until Monday, so I'm just going to lie around like a sloth and wait for this to pass and watch some bad TV on Netflix. I'm around on AIM when I'm conscious enough, but tagging right now would be pretty much impossible, and don't expect much scintillating conversation.

And now I'm going to go blow my nose again.
