Haven’t wrote much since there really isn’t all that much going on in my life right now. Just hanging out with the kids this summer and doing housework. Nothing really exciting. I’m sure none of ya’ll want to hear me grip about doing laundry or vacuuming the floors.

We did have fun watching the shuttle go up! I thought about going out to the coast to watch it, but the traffic out there was dreadful! So we watched the live broadcast and then when it lifted off we ran out and saw it come up over the top of the apartment complex. It was beautiful. I could make out the shuttle itself with my binoculars. But I was only able to see it for a few seconds before it went behind a cloud.  I’ve so missed the shuttle launches. Of course since more foam came off during the launch NASA is thinking about grounding the fleet again *UGH* and since there is only 5 more years left in the shuttle program, it doesn’t look good. I hope they will be able to safely get more shuttles up-I’d hate to wait five more years. Anyways here is a photo I took of the contrail:

Went to the beach yesterday and as usual it was just lovely. But the sand fleas (also known as mole crabs, here is a link if you want to see what they look like: http://www.assateague.com/mole-cr.html ) where out. There was hundreds if not thousands of them. I have never seen some many at one time. When a wave would wash it would uncover them and they would go scurrying back into the sand-I swear it looked like roaches! I was a bit freaked out at first. When the kids and I first went in I felt something ticklish on my feet and I look down expecting to see seaweed, but no it was lots of sand fleas crawling around! *shudders* I’m not really afraid of them, I’ve caught them before it’s just that I’ve never seen so many at once and they were all over my feet! I was thinking: don’t panic, if I panic the kids will panic and I’ll never get them back to the beach again. So I was gritting my teeth saying “Oh look kids, look at all the sand fleas…..” and of course I was wanting to run screaming up the beach-get them off me! The kids loved them! The caught them all afternoon. Josie, of course, wanted to bring them home with us. Of course we didn’t-I told her they don’t make good pets and they have to live at the ocean.

Well that’s pretty much it. Oh we did get to see a manatee in the wild a few weeks ago at the Blue Springs park. But I didn’t have my camera on me so I didn’t get a picture of it. but that’s pretty much what’s been going on with me.  I’ll be returning to college at the end of August so hopefully I’ll have more to write about then.
