Here is what happened with my sister and the wolf:
Well Tuesday evening she was outside cleaning out a little kiddie pool she has for her kids. It’s not one of those little plastic ones, but one of the larger blow up types. It’s about 2 and ½ feet deep and about 5 feet in diameter; so it take a bit more time to clean out. Thankfully her kids where inside because while she had her back turned a wolf nearly attacked her!!! I’m not usually a religious person, but it seemed like some sort of divine intervention that she is ok. The only thing that saved her was the fact that her husband just happened to get off work early and was pulling in when he noticed the wolf just a few feet behind her and getting ready to pounce! Luckily he also keeps a gun in his car because he pulled it out and fired it into the air (the wolf being way too close to my sis for him to risk a shot). The rifle shot scared it way, and he tried to get it while it was running back into the woods-but he’s not a very good shot. But thank God she is ok and that he got home when he did. Of course she is shaken up; heck I’m rather upset over it and I wasn’t even there.
Anyways they have talked to the local animal control and even though wolves are a protected species up there apparently this particular one (or one matching its description) has be making a menace of itself and they along with other hunters/trappers are allowed to kill it. The sane, rational side of me would like to say that it’s only doing what wolves do-hunt. And that in a sense my sister and her family are the intruders. But, and pardon my French, fuck that. It was my sister it was trying to eat. And I feel faint at the “what if” she had had her children out with her! I’m hoping that whom ever eventually kills it won’t want the pelt cause right now I would like to see that bastard on my living room floor.
