So, I need some place to write about Elizabeth. She is my oldest Original Character, and began when I began. She and I endured many a Harry Potter roleplay, flitting in and out of the Marauder's Era and Present Era, respectively. She was made to be a model of who I longed to be, what stereotype I hoped to fit into one day, but as I matured, so did she, and she has stuck around for so long, fulfilling all sorts of purposes. She's been a pixie, a witch, a superhero, a young mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a lover, and most importantly, one of my closest friends.
Today, she stands as follows.
Physical Attributes
Age: early to mid 20's usually
Height: 5'5
Hair Color: Deep red.
Eye Color: Dark green.
Wardrobe/Clothing Style: Conservative, modest, "wintery". Her main-staples include pieces such as neutral-toned, long-sleeved button down shirts, "nice" slack-like jeans, pencil skirts (only when necessary) and high-collared jackets. Think business woman on a casual day.
Scars/Birthmarks: Freckles galore on her cheekbones and the bridge of her nose, a birthmark on the underside of her right wrist, and several cooking/baking scars on the sides and undersides of her arms.
((Drawn by Katie.))
Favorites
Color: Soft colors, such as pastels, appeal to her. However, her favorite color is pretty consistently a shade of sage green.
Food: Dessert crepes, if one can classify them as a legitimate food, are her favorite. Outside the line of dessert, Italian cuisine is a guilty pleasure for her.
Pastime: Reading is something she adores, and will take part in whenever she can.
Music Genre: She appreciates, of all things, country music. However, when not able to admit to that, she will say classical.
Movie Genre: Her favorite movies are psychological thrillers, movies that make her think or surprise her.
Book Genre: Romantic comedy novels are her secret desire, but she won't be caught dead owning one, and instead prefers to read mystery novels.
Family Background
Elizabeth has had many different family situations, especially given the universe I set her in, however, the basics always stay the same, because without those basics she would not be the character she is built to be every time.
Her father is a family man, working and living and genuinely happy. He is not abusing any substance, he is not secretly head of an evil organization- he is a legitimately pleased man who loves his family and his job. He has a light, though interesting sense of humor, enjoys baseball more than football, and likes his coffee black. He works hard and is dedicated to keeping his family together and supported through every hardship. I named him Gerald.
Elizabeth's mother is named Alicia. She is a loving, stay-at-home mother, and always has been. She is, unfortunately, no-nonsense, and has trouble delivering a "motherly touch". She is known to cope with most emotion by turning it into a harsh joke or jab, but the family accepts and understands this as her way of affection. She believes that words are less powerful than gestures, and while she won't take the time to kiss each of her children goodnight and pack their brown lunches, she has been known to prove her love for them in secretive ways. The kids just have to look in order to understand that she is not as outright affectionate as their father, but she still loves them just as much.
Elizabeth has three brothers, two older and one younger. The younger brother is named Kyle, and the elders are named George and Christopher. Kyle is younger by four years, while George and Christopher are older by four.
George and Christopher are identical twins. They are typical, and simply overprotective of their sister. They went through phases of identity crisis and rebellion, but since they are much older, are far past that, and simply stay attached at the hip (this is growing to be a problem however, as they are both nearly in their thirties in most timelines, and this shows that they have a dependency issue).
Kyle is a gentle soul. He is kind-natured and still very innocent in heart and mind, a "flower child" by most counts. He is a good student and an obedient son. Elizabeth adored him from the moment of his birth, and made it her priority to "raise" him alongside her parents, showing much more interest in his birth and life than her older brothers (who were in a stage of envy at the time over having to share more spotlight). He was adopted, due to Alicia's inability to get pregnant again after Elizabeth. In school, he is plagued by the current and pressing issue of homosexuality. Kyle is, in fact, not homosexual, however his quiet nature and inability to be a stereotypical "boy" is counterproductive to his desire to fit in. Elizabeth does what she can to keep in contact with Kyle, and this seems to be helping him to cope.
((There could technically be quite a dark twist to this story, but several individuals I have met have opposed such a twist, and so I neglect to post it here. It's not horrific, just a little cliche. If you'd like to know more, please contact me directly.))
Personality
She has a sense of humor like her father, with a tinge of heavy sarcasm from her elder brothers, and the innocent mind of her younger (she may seem cynical, but she has no grounds for being this way, and is mostly just outright naive when it comes to interaction with others, thus the phrase "innocent mind"). She is, upon first meeting, very polite and good-natured, but quick to get to the point, and almost cold in her kindness, as though she is representing Barbie in customer service. She prefers to have everything black and white, clear cut and efficient, and would generally be classified as a reserved little bookworm. The only thing separating her from a stereotype is her secret desire for classic romances and dreams of the impossible. She is a big daydreamer, and enjoys sleeping more than she should, for the ability to slide into a world of her own.
Despite her apparent "desire to be alone" and preference for working solo, she longs for companionship just as much as the next girl. She's far too afraid of the risks that come with relationships, however, and is quick to cut ties with people as soon as their purpose has been served. This is seen as cruel and manipulative, and when she is annoyed or confused by someone's insistence to interact with her after she has cut them off, they tend to discard her entirely. If people pushed a little harder and stuck around a little longer, she might have a friend or two instead of passing acquaintanceship.
Among her faults are low self-esteem, stubbornness, a temper, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She also has an irrational fear of abandoned and wrecked buildings.
