Well I realize I am almost a week late but oh well. I Graudated on May 7th!!!! It was a good time of fellowship with my family and the Poublons. It took two families 1 car, 1 SUV and 1 Truck but most of Mike's and my "Big Stuff" was moved down from Hollan to Kalamazoo. With everyone helping it didn't take to long to load, drive the hour, unload and set up the apartment. THe guys spent a lot of time putting together a desk Mike and I bought while the ladies unloaded the kitchen and any other boxes we could find. Our apartment still looks like a college dorm mae over but soon we will be bringing furniture from Midland down in a Uhaul and the bed Mike bought will show up so we will have more than the dorm funriture we had at Hope. On sunday we had a wild day of running around here and there seeing different professors and getting the right place and that right time. The foreign language department and the biology dept held open houses and I was able to introduce my family to some of my favorite biology people. That was a lot of fun. We talked to Dr. Cronkite, Dr Murray, Dr. Winnett- Murray, Lori and smiled at a lot of Chemistry Profs that I didn't know. We had a picture time with my housemates and then went off to Graduation. I recieved a nice red sunburn since the ceremony was outside. We had to line up on the sidelines and then were marched into the stadium between two rows of professros congratulating us which was a really moving way to get the graduates into their seats. Being #9 I was seating in the front row. They didn't have everything down when we were going across, like the photographers. THey didn't know where they wanted us to stand or how to manage the flow of people. Since we were the first 12 of 630 something we spent the rest of our front row time looking and talking about everyones shoes since they were about at eye level. The speaker was an English professor that i didn't know but she did write a poem for us that was a lot of fun. One of my favorite professors won the H.O.P.E. award which is presented by the graduating class to a professor that they thought represented Hope and taught well. I was so excited when Prof. Portfleet's name was called! She was my advisor befroe i declared, my FYS prof an I took cultural heritage from her.
After we graduated and walked home it was a mad dash to get everyones crap out of the Apartment and clean it. Moose and I had everyone jumping through hoops for us so we could get the dang thing clean. Finally when that was all over we loaded up and drove home to Mildand. I have been working on getting all my crap cleaned out and put away ever since. Phew. This whole moving into my own place is causing me to go through a lot of my crap which is very good but taking a lot of work!
This weekend we are celebrating my in laws 25th wedding anniversary.
Next weekend is my huge Bridal Shower that should be a very large party.
