When I talk about why I'm sad that this was made into a movie I draw from sources such as this:

And now it's going to be made into a movie. I know most people would assume that I never even read the book so I have no reason to pass judgement. Unfortunately this is not the case. I read the book. It was entirely a movie pitch. It was written exactly the way you'd write screenplay for Hollywood movies. Many people do this so what's the big deal?
Read the article. I'm not going to rewrite it here but basically the ethics used to propel it into Hollywood were pretty underhanded. Proving that if you know the right people you can get anything made into movie.
I think what really makes me sad though is that this is going to be par for the course. Just slant your sales so that one store has you as #1 while simultaneously making sure that a National mainstream magazine just happen to be gaging comic sales.
