Glee | A Cheerio Sandwich | Kurt, Santana, Brittany (One Shot)
Started my daily ficlets to make the hiatus pass, then decided to keep going with a 2nd cycle, and then a 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th , 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th cycle. Now cycle 16!

"A CHEERIO SANDWICH"
Kurt, Santana, Brittany
When Kurt had joined the Cheerios with Mercedes, they had been a bit of a unit within the squad. They interacted with the others, but they mostly kept to themselves as a whole. Once Mercedes had quit though, there was that choice to make: either he would quit as well, stay in there on his own, or mingle… He chose the third option.
This led him to be somewhat more integrated to the Cheerio unit, but more particularly it left him to be “adopted” into a trio with his fellow Glee Club members, Santana and Brittany. He could see them nearing around him, curious maybe. He wasn’t sure whether or not he should feel like a piece of juicy prey…
The trip to Nationals was definitely a game changer. The bus had filled up and Kurt had found himself on the backseat. He was just putting on his ear buds when he felt someone sit, first on his left, then his right. He looked to find Santana and Brittany sitting there with him.
“Hey,” Santana nodded.
“Hey,” Kurt returned it.
“Hi,” Brittany closed the loop.
“Preparing for your close-up, Celine?” Santana asked dramatically.
“Mais oui,” Kurt sat back. Brittany blinked, looking to Santana.
“Is he?” Both Kurt and Santana nodded. “Okay,” she nodded back.
“That’s a whole lot of French,” Santana snatched up one of the buds and the iPod from him.
“Well, I just take it like choreography, I guess,” he shrugged. She looked at him.
“Really,” she extended, waiting for him to adjust his answer.
“Yeah, I’m doing my best,” he shrugged. “At least I’m familiar with the material,” he chuckled.
“It’s like Spanish presentation,” Brittany pitched in. “I hate those,” she mumbled, just as Santana was cruising through Kurt’s ‘solo Celine’ playlist. She looked to Brittany with the downcast eyes and Kurt with the flare of panic.
“You’ll do fine,” she promised Kurt. He looked to her, surprised by her vote of confidence.
“Thanks,” he smiled.
“Can I?” Brittany indicated the ear bud still held by Kurt. He handed it to her, soon finding himself in a tight squeeze between the two girls sharing the headphones. He could imagine how the appeal of the situation would be lost on him, which the girls probably knew… Well, Santana, at least…
Once the headphones were returned to him, along with the iPod, he put them back on, to continue preparing himself, though he could still talk with them.
“So, as confident as I may be, what do you think will happen if we lose?” Santana and Brittany instinctively winced. “What if we lose there and win with Glee Club?” The thought of it played out in the girls’ heads, and the conclusion was the same… Something worse than they had imagined up until then… “It’s going to be fine,” he got to nodding, to pull the three of them back from the brink.
“Yeah, you can out-diva Celine any day,” Brittany nodded.
“The blonde speaks the truth,” Santana smirked, which made Brittany laugh and Kurt chuckle.
“Yes, she does,” he agreed.
They spent the rest of that ride with a good and steady faith that they would return to Lima with a giant trophy, earned through the squad, and their “Diontastic” soloist. They would go in there with victory all around them; Sue Sylvester would expect no less, and neither would they.
And when they did return with that trophy, the trio only continued to solidify… ready to go two-for-two on wins.
