Glee Top 108 - #080 "Beautiful"
Going to work my way through the 108 songs, hopefully one per day. This includes all 100 released singles, whether they appeared on the show or not, as well as 8 which were not, over the course of season 1. It was difficult for me to play favorites and put them all in some order, it’s just not something I’m comfortable at doing, but then I DID want to do it, so I buckled down and now here we are.

Where Mercedes reclaimed the ‘home’ of her body… atta girl! She was so nervous, but it was important, so she went on with it. And she spoke directly to a lot of them… they were all listening to her… so great… I loved the close-ups we got of Kurt, and Santana, standing behind her… they were struck by it all. And Quinny, supporting her again! And proud! Papa Will! Love! And proud! Rachel!
I didn’t notice until now how, when the Cheerios turn and join in to sing back-up, Kurt is still facing away from her. [PS: Quinn, so very pretty here, dudes] Now finally as others join in, including the rest of the club up front, he’s with them, looking at her from a few paces back, smiling… (love the widening shot of all of them gathered at the center! And Quinn/Mercedes friendship FTW!) And when it’s over, he goes to her, thanks her, apologizes… BFF hug!
Overall, such a unifying number… We got to see the Glee Club reach out, and be part of the whole of the student body, not just their own thing.
