Glee Top 108 - #093 "Like A Virgin"

Jul 13, 2010 20:52

Going to work my way through the 108 songs, hopefully one per day. This includes all 100 released singles, whether they appeared on the show or not, as well as 8 which were not, over the course of season 1. It was difficult for me to play favorites and put them all in some order, it’s just not something I’m comfortable at doing, but then I DID want to do it, so I buckled down and now here we are.

(092) - (094)

This one required the most number of images up ‘til now, and you can imagine why. With our three couples out on a mission to unload some V cards, and the choreography of it all, there was bound to be a lot to cover. The matching of said choreography along the way, along with the matching colors of the outfits… awesome.

The moment at the beginning, with our three virgins, gives the start to what we’ll later come to realize wasn’t real, and I really liked that. Also like the shots we got, from time to time, of people’s hands. The drive of each couple is very clear: Emma shows herself as confident, which she always tries to be; Rachel is into it, though she seems uncertain; Finn looks out of his way, almost spooked by Santana, all ferocious… Knowing it’s in their heads makes it even greater.

Now we do get a bit of Emma, so second time, but we also get the first Santana! Her solo didn’t exactly make it on air, but in the single it makes me think of…. You know in Lady Marmalade, where it’s approaching Christina’s part? The part here felt like that too, like ‘look out, y’all, here’s Santana!’ And I love that.

And then abruptly we’re back to the quiet and our virgins in the mirror. What will they do?!
