Glee Top 108 - #101 "Highway to Hell"

Jun 18, 2010 09:09

Going to work my way through the 108 songs, hopefully one per day. This includes all 100 released singles, whether they appeared on the show or not, as well as 8 which were not, over the course of season 1. It was difficult for me to play favorites and put them all in some order, it’s just not something I’m comfortable at doing, but then I DID want to do it, so I buckled down and now here we are.

(100) - (102)

Ah, when Vocal Adrenaline went from an ensemble to an ensemble with a front man… Love this song, so I was excited for it when it came along. And it does fit to Vocal Adrenaline in my opinion, though I’m sure New Directions could have done it good, too, I feel it belongs well with VA. They’re the leaders in this world, they know it, and they assume it big time here.

The performance, the amount we see on the show compared to the single as a whole, is fairly short, but you still get how the group here is so very on mission, straight-shot arrow, everything’s hard hitting with the choreography… they’re so different from the way New Directions perform and I love that we can see the difference.

And though it’s very much Jesse’s show at this point, we do get some focus on some of the others, which I love (like a certain someone I know ;)). And then the show face bit after is just kind of awesome. But then it IS very short, and we never really get the chance to get into it, which does factor in it landing this low.
