Smokey and Kisa

After 6 months, we finally decided to get a new cat. We went up to PetSmart last night and fell in love with two new kittens that had just been brought there by the humane society. The names that were orignally given to them were "Trick or Treat" and "Target". They have sense been changed to Smokey and Kisa (pronounced Kee-sa...for you Fruits ( Read more... )

Aw! Cute little kitties!

Though sometimes I have to wonder about the names the humane society people give these cats. When we adopted Tiger from the animal shelter through Petsmart, his original name was "Johnny". What kind of a name is that for a cat?

Speaking as one who actually works for one of those places... when you go through hundreds and hundreds of cats, and each one needs a different name to put in the computer, you start generating some interesting names. My favorite so far is a cat I worked with named Spoon Stars.

They're cute!

Yeah, the Humane Society doesn't do a good job of naming cats. When we adopted Marcus and Merlin back in '99, the names they had were "Fabio" and "Cher".
