V be free for me!

Well hello everybody!
Yup i am back once again! this weekend was indeed the weirdest i have ever had.
On Friday morning i got a phonecall from sylindria (GF) saying that she could get free tickets to the V weekend (including Camping) so i said "sure.....can we get more?" after a brief interlude the answer was "Yes but we need a donation!" so we paid a £50 donation (amount was optional) and we got the tickets couriered for the saturday morning.

After ringing every single one of my friends i managed to get Mr Friday Night for saturday but becuase he couldn't do sunday and i had no one lined up for the sunday this meant i had to drive home the saturday night and drive back the sunday morning!

So at 11AM saturday the tickets arrived i bundled Sylindria and Mr Friday Night into my beautiful NEW CAR (only 3 weeks old!! and thats from the end of the production line not from a forecourt!) So we climbed into the Leon and headed up to Weston Park. There was NO traffic our timing was excellent we arrived to see the end of the Goo Goo Dolls finish there set so we got to here IRIS played by the people who wrote it....fantastic! they are soo much better than that irish ditherer Mr Keating.

We then went to the Merch tents and bought loads of stuff. and then the Rain REALLY CAME DOWN!
We found a hiding spot and waited until a decent band turned up.

I bought loads of new shirts and i am dead chuffed!

I saw a good few bands on the saturday but by far the best were James and The Killers (who absolutely ROCKED!) Kasabian were very good but i had disliked the album tremendously so i wasn't expecting much....it just shows live is defiantely different to recorded.
(since then i have gone to iTunes and found i still think they are shite recorded)

That night i drove home and got to bed about half 2 in the morning. the following day i awoke to find a very sick Sylindria....the weather had been so bad it completely took its toll on her so i was stuck in a situation were i would either not go to the Sunday or Go alone....and as i was already knackered i didn't want to go it alone.

I called EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!! even people i hadn't seen in 4 years! but because of the short notice i couldn't find anyone willing to go....that was until i rang Mr Woodman.
I got a "This phone has been turned off message" so i thought well he lives around the corner why not drop in?

Amazingly he was up and awake when i knocked on the door, i asked "What are you up to today?"
He said "Not much i may go the cinema this evening" i asked him "Fancy going to the V fest? i ahve a spare ticket" within 5 minutes of knocking on the door Mr Woodman was in the car and we were headed BACK TO V!

Now if i thought the saturday was Wet Sunday was UNREAL! i had my newly aquired waterproof poncho and that did nothing to this.....i was soaked through and freezing! (i ate my way through 3 festival Qtr Pounders in under an hour! thats how much energy i was burning to stay warm.

I managed to catcht he end of the Proclaimers and heard 500 Miles and then i buggered off to the safety of a Tent that Mr Friday night discovered the previous day (it served PIMS and Champagne and Grolsch....i liked this tent) after a couple of hours drying out we ventured out to see the Thrills, these guys really rocked so i thought well lets see what the next bands like so i waited for The Fray to start up.....not too bad but i have heard better.

Next up was JET and they were awesome the drummer is a nutter even thier Keyboard player had this look of "What the hell are you on dude?" as he was smashing away at the drums (it was a turely awesome set)

Once they finished we legged it....i really mean it i went for the hills as the next band on that stage was going to be Babyshambles and i REALLY REALLY HATE Pete Doherty (i pray one day he does too much or get incarcerated for a long time!)
And we headed for the main stage to see PINK. now that lady can rock, she was absolutely awesome. she even had one of the members from Four Non-blondes come on stage and sing "Whats Up"

Next up was a return to the 4 Music stage to see The Happy Mondays ( i did watch a small bit of Snow Patrol but i still don't like em...its a long story)

Bez was caned off his noodle and Shaun Rider was a mess. other than that rather fun to watch.

The i returned for the Band i ahve been dying to see for the last 10 years. Foo Fighters!!

The set was fantastic he played My Hero (which always reminds me of my dad) and Stacked Actors, Monkey Wrench, Breakout and of course Learn to Fly.
He started off with Everlong but he played it on guitar only all alone and very softly, it really makes me like that song even more now.

Also towards the end of the set we were introduced to his inspiration!!! DAVE GROHLS MUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have photos! then he finished the set.

I didn't get home till quarter to four and i promptly passed out...i have since got a cold but hey who cares i rocked along to the Best of You!

So its two days later and here i am back at work before i disappear onto a boat and do some fishing with my Bro and my Dad, so i can catch up with my sleep then!

I will be posting pictures of the event on my Myspace page at some point (need to get photos scanned) and that address is www.myspace.com/the_lunar_kennel

Laters guys!
M

rock!!!
