Another indie bookstore at risk!
You may not be local to the Milwaukee/Madison areas, b ut still if you can, see what you can do to help these ladies keep the place going. They do so much for the community, lgbt and otherwise. It would be heartbreaking to loose this santuary too.
Please, help save Broad Vocabulary. Milwaukee has a real treasure in this independent bookstore, center for the exchange of ideas, and venue for performers and poets. The founders, and more recently Jennifer, Tina
and others have provided a base for our community. But the bookstore is closing at the end of this month. There is hope! Please read this posting from the new Broad Vocabulary Cooperative below.

Help Broad Vocabulary make a comeback, stronger and better than ever!
Join us on Sunday the 30th for a cooperative kick-off fundraiser. A group of committed organizers are working to purchase Broad Vocabulary so that it can continue to offer amazing and valuable services to feminists and progressives in the Milwaukee area. This is more than a bookstore. It's a community space and an energizer... and we need YOUR support to make it happen!
Be one of the first to become a member of the new cooperative. Take part in fabulous events. Purchase unique art and gifts by local artists. Help the Broad Vocabulary Phoenix rise!
When: Sunday, November 30th
Where: 11 AM-5 PM-- Broad Vocabulary (2241 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.); 5 PM- 10 PM-- Sugar Maple (441 E. Lincoln Ave.)

All day: bake sale, art and craft pieces by local feminists for sale
plus Femiknits knit-a-thon! Gift certificates & gift baskets for raffle
from Sugar Maple & A Woman's Touch.
11:00 am Children's crafts & story time
1:00 pm Bellydancing performance and workshop with Shaia Fahrid
3:00 pm "Sex Toys 101" by A Woman's Touch
5:00-10:00 pm The party moves to the back room of Sugar Maple for an
open mic "adult story time"
Bring: Yourself, your friends, your favorite adult story to share, your hard earned pennies. Bring your check book!
Cost: All events are free to get into, but we need your investments if we want to raise enough money to purchase BV. Just sayin'.
Come prepared to be generous and festive. You will be generously entertained by these feministy festivities!
