Lost epiphany found!

OMG, I think I just figured out what happened between Ben and Jacob in that last scene (without the aid of pop-ups) ...

Upon a fresh viewing, instead of taking it as Ben took it, I've just reinterpreted what Jacob meant by two things he said to his all-too-loyal servant:

"Remember, you have a choice" = Ben has always had a choice whether to do exactly what he is told (follow the leader) or ...

"What about you?" = "What about you and what you want/think is right? Where is your free will to think for yourself?"

Wow, Ben has been wrong all along and he never sees it. He's so gifted, and his genius has gone to waste. Of course, I want him to be a hero, so I hope I'm wrong, but this is the first time I've really focused on Jacob and the way he was saying it all--now that I know who Locke really is. :(

I'm so out of the loop, someone's surely brought this up already (it seems so obvious now), but just in case ... What do you think?
