The Poetry You Didn't Even Know You Wanted to Read

Jul 18, 2009 13:46

Hey, boys and girls (or just me),
Here's some poetry I wrote between 2:00am and 2:45am last night.  Hazzah!
*P.S. If anyone knows how to do this mysterious "LJ-Cut" thing, please tell me.

"The Sigh"

All of me,
The whole and heart of me,
Encompassed on a breath, a sigh.

Oh, but for a breath through your gently parted lips...

I don't dare ask more,
For the chance that might too leave me
And it is enough of you
In exchange for me.

Oh, for a breath, a sigh for me!
One is all I need.
For that I give my heart, my soul,
My mind in parts

For if I gave the whole I could not admire
Your laugh, your smile, your sharply biting wit,
Nor that dear sigh upon your lips.

"May You Be"

You are sun-dark and moon-bright
And all the softest shades of gray,
And yellow too,
Though why I couldn't say.

You are evening-cool and morning-warm,
And cherry-scented sweet.
You are there and here,
And, most of all,
A forever I'll never meet.

"One, Two"

Strongheart,
One, two
Beneath my fingertips,
One, two
Strongheart,
One, two
Don't you ever (please, never) fade away,
And when I am gone
One, two
Please, walk on and on
One, two
So to the rhythm of your feet
My heart will beat
One, two
Itself upon the ground
One, tw-

"Melancholy Melodies"

Melancholy melodies
Float on the breeze
So much more softly
(Gently, gently)
Than their sweet sisters do.

Up tune lyrics always cheer,
Make you turn to face your ear,
But those melancholy melodies
Are oh so much more dear.

"Childhood"

Reaching up, grab a hand,
Run around a dinner table
Whensoever you are able!

Child, child, listen here
It goes fast so hold it dear
Under beds, down in the sheets
Toes to tickle, pies to eat!

Bikes to ride, and games to play
Don't let go, lest it fly away!

**"Vergessen Sie Nicht Mir!"

Remember me as you might a daylong memory,
Filled with light and laughter,
The boring and mundane,
Where I sat,
What you ate,
And all the things betwain.

**This one was actually inspired by Alfonse Heiderich
form the FMA movie: The Conqueror of Shambala

P.P.S. Got it. ^.~
