Well, this weekend was rather interesting. We were supposed to get Eddie's daughter Saturday. He actually had the whole weekend off and we made plans to do something with all the kids. We were going to go to the park and picnic. It wasn't too hot, and would have been perfect. But, Eddie's ex wouldn't let him get her because he had made plans which included me. So I gave him the number to the attorney that I used in getting child support for Cyrus and he called and they asked questions. The lawyer told Eddie that as long as he's paying support, his ex cannot keep the baby from him. So we called back and he told her that even though he has been paying straight out cash, this weeks he's voluntarily signing him up for child support enforcement. She finally came around and we got to get her Sunday. Since, I was planning on staying home and doing some really deep cleaning in the house, I offered to watch Emily.
The house isn't really dirty, it's just some things have been neglected since I've been looking for work. I normally mop the living room floor at least twice a week. But last week, I think I just spot mopped it. And last night, just knowing that was driving me mad. I also just finished scrubbing the bathrooms and threw my comforter in the washer. The weather is rather nice, there's a breeze, so I thought I'd take advantage and wash my comforter and let the sun abd breeze dry it.
We went to my cousin's yesterday after getting Emily and took the kids swimming. Everyone was asking me what it felt like knowing that a year from tomorrow I lost everything. I told them that I was actually managing quite well with the feelings I've had about Katrina, but, since they've thrown it all in my face again, I'm feeling kind of ummmmmmm uneasy about the one year aniversary. I mean, I'm happy that my family survived the hurricane, and my life is taking a turn that is possibly for the better. But it's still "weird" knowing that in just a few hours, it will be one year that I lost all the baby pictures, all the little momentos of doing things with the kids, the little things that I held onto. *sighs*
Oh well, the washer's almost done. That was our weekend. I finally got batteries for the camera, and will post pictures of the kids and things when I can.
