"What were the worst things about the last job/employer you were employed in/worked with"
A : nothing particularly bad. At all costs do NOT mention a complaint, they don't want to hear it. Say that the stresses that occured now and then were over out of the ordinary stuff or simple social friction which you experienced and mellowly moved on from. Emphasize that "now and then" was pretty uncommon. Say it with sincerity.
"So you have a long gap in your work history/spotty intermittent.'
Here emphasize that you just needed a long time to find your niche and you know what you want to do and where to do it and you're ready to settle down. Make sure while you say this you think of things that are most true about that statement. Make up a regular middle class aspiration that sounds safe and mundane and conservative.
Any questions about fast paced workplace or "self starter" or crap: Practice lying in a mirror on this one. Say that you easily fall into a groove and you thrive on high tempo. Try to roleplay it, imagine as though you were talking about the bestest, favoritest work you could imagine with you in the best mood and the best support you can imagine.
