I....am.......warm!
This is cause for much delight. I have been chilly since I decided to turn the heat in my bedroom down yesterday (I turned it back up this morning, oy vey). And of course the department building has never heard of this thing called "heat." It was thirty-four degrees today, thanks, Boston and I, being the intelligent young thing that I am, decided to go for a walk without thinking about the wind. I walked the long way around campus, through Somerville, to Porter Square and wound up buying groceries. I am sad to say that the Japanese market was out of renkon and quail eggs, but I grabbed some scallions because they go in just about everything. Boy From Tokyo was on shift at the "antique" shop, so I skipped over to say hi and he gave me a knowing look and told me I'd just bought Pocari Sweat.
He was right, darnitall, I'm too predictable. But I alsoSpices. Warm!
I got myself laughed at when I called to ask my father what type of onion I should use, because my father is a mean person. :P But he's never made curry so he didn't know and he just set about teasing me because that is after all his calling in life. [[I stand by what I said, old man, someday I will develop a way to punch people in the nose over the phone.]]
Spent some time huddling miserably in my room, after getting home. Long-sleeved tee, argyle sweater, hoodie over both and I was still cold. But I am delighted to say that hacking away at things in the kitchen and then chowing happily down on curry and boiled red potatoes has made me feel much better. And once it cools a bit and I can find a full set of Tupperware, I'll have leftover curry'n'taters for lunch tomorrow. YAY!
Finally sent my mother a picture of my new business!shoes and immediately received an email telling me what What Not To Wear says about suits. I...I am just going to cling to Riha until our moms stop being nuts, okay.
I wish I could find some affordable matcha.
