26!
Ok, I know everyone will be shocked to death to see that I have actually posted something here. Work has been insane the past few months. We're really pushing right now to finish up the last experiments I need for my first paper (OMG), but these experiments involve collecting tissue every 3 hours for 3 days straight. Yes, at night too.
Luckily I have some help with collecting the night samples, but it still means having to get to work at 6:30 and not getting to leave a lot of times until 8 or 9, and sometimes not even until after midnight. So between that, Japanese class, and at least attempting to stay in shape, it's been pretty hectic. And unless you are interested in the specifics of what I do everyday, leaves me pretty much nothing to write about.
However, I thought I would write a post all the good things that happened on or immediately surrounding my birthday.
- The technician in our lab tied a balloon to my chair and brought in breakfast pastries
- Our newest member gave me a Chinese charm and a scarf, and also brought in a tofu dish
- The aforementioned tech and the research scientist here took me to lunch at a new Italian restaurant
- Some of my friends baked me cupcakes and gave me a present
- Another friend drew me a picture
- We had cupcakes at Japanese class also
- My Mother gave me a Nook OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And also some hot pot cookbooks and some bracelets that she made herself.
- My grandparents gave me $$$ and some owl address labels
- I got chocolate covered strawberries from Jen
- All the nice wishes on Facebook, etc!
So it was a a great birthday!
I still have some other things to post catch-ups on, including my fancy-dyed Easter eggs, but that will have to wait until another time!
