All up I had five major gallstone attacks five days in a row.
One of them was set off by white bread - at least, if what I violently threw up was an indicator, it was set off by white bread.
Since another was set off by grilled chicken breast, I've been on a strictly vegetarian (wholemeal) diet for the past several days, which is proving interesting since I'm an absolutely rubbish chef, loathe most tofu and am used to making up the lack by varying my meat. I am hoping to manage some fish this weekend though!
I've also been gobbling down apples since they're supposed to be good for gall bladder regulation - and today I baked (first time in what seems like forever!) - modified sugar bickies, with oats and honey in place of half the flour and sugar.
A second ultrasound has proven I have many small calcium stones in my gallbladder.
I have an appointment to see a surgeon - first available space was 22nd August.
We ordered - and received - a hug-a-bub baby carrier this past week. It is awesome and almost worth its overpriced tag for what is essentially five metres of organic cotton with a fifteen minute instruction dvd for how to wrap yourself and your baby in it.
I am beginning to adjust to motherhood, I think.
