I lived in Denmark for six months when I was 20. I was homesick when I lived there and missed my family terribly (despite times of intense enjoyment). My grandmother had died very suddenly the month before I left. However when I got back to the UK I missed Denmark and the live and experiances I had there. Ten years on I sill miss Denmark and that life, but then I also miss my student life.

We all miss the things we leave behind and often those times when we are challenged stand out more in your memoeries.

The trick is to try and enjoy the small moments as they happen. Like your big skys and smell of jasmine for you, or me sitting on bus last week going past St Pauls with a lovely rainbow over it. Because the small moments add up to the big moments and joys of life and on that profound note I think I need to go to bed.
