The week of movies
I found a shit-load of cool movies, so Imma watch dems. I also has a coughy sick, so this'll give me a way to get my mind off it. I found season 9 of Stargate:SG1 as well. The Director Commentary has a bit of wrongness humor. But this is Stargate, so it should be expected. Encouraged even. The movies are Milk and Kinsey for the political/social shit, Nightwatch, The Host, and ...*sigh* Constantine for creepy shit, and that "doctor horrible" movie for laffs. A note about Constantine: I saw a bit of it when we still had cable and Keanu "whoa!" Reeves being cast as Magnificent Bastard John Constantine was probably the worst decision ever made in the history of film. Evar! 1) He's not British. 2) He's not blonde (NOT EVEN DYED!) and 3) Keanu Reeves cannot fucking act. After seeing Fight Club, I think Brad Pitt would made a much better choice. He can do the serious stuff as well as be absolutely hilariously insane at times. Plus he's hotter. Reeves just has no goddam emotion in whatever he's doing, or he gets the emotion wrong somehow. He was good at being a deadhead in the Bill and Ted movies, but I'm thinking there wasn't much acting going on there, if ya know what I mean. ...I mean fuck, did they even read the damned comics at all? Constantine is a swaggering jerk, laughing in the face of anyone and everyone, knocking supernatural uglies down to size with sarcasm and cunning, most times sacrificing other people to save his own skin. Not freaking Neo. Gah, FANBOY RAEG!
