Original Pizza Palace opens again!
I went looking for an article in the Gainesville Sun a regular patron of mine told me he'd be in. He's suing for $1,000,000 for a variety of reasons, mostly just so it isn't ignored. Well, the Gainesville Sun heard and decided to run a story about it, but it turned out to be more about the cause of the suit. I don't give a damn really about his suit, but the article left me very happy.
For those of you who've been in Gainesville a long time, you might remember Original Pizza Palace. I vaguely remember it, I went a couple times as a kid with my mom and John, but I remember thinking how great the place was. This was the Original Satchel's. As the article states, many of the employees from Palace ended up at Satchel's. The artist who decorated Satchel's decorated Palace.
I also know MANY people who've remembered this place fondly over the years and tried to reopen it. It's about time someone succeeded.
