Palestrina
Ok, just a few words about G. P. da Palestrina.
Once Horowitz said that he felt ALL music was romantic. I'm not sure if he's right, but Palestrina is one of the most romantic composers ever. And today, because I can: Gloria from the Missa Papae Marcelli - a 6 voice mass that he wrote in a more "conservative" style to satisfy the conservatives of his day that his music was not lacsivious.
