Six years in the making

Well, that's just a guess, but it's been a long time. Isn't it beautiful? Cross-stitched and quilted by yours truly. It needs to be framed or something; too precious to use. ;)

Otherwise I've had an enjoyable long weekend. My parents are on vacation so I have two depressed dogs to console. I've also been attempting to reduce the glare on my white, white skin by spending a few minutes a day in the sun. Had to wash the chaise as it was covered in a year's worth of dirt.

I went shopping Saturday and had great luck! Thanks to seirina for tipping me off to the epic Penney's sale, where I got four pairs of shorts, a blouse and a bra for $66! I had to throw in a clearance ring to put me over the $75 mark so I could use the $15 coupon. :D I also went to Hot Topic, where I found an AFI shirt and a Killers shirt on the clearance rack. Totally wearing the AFI shirt Wednesday to see them LIVE!!!

Thanks to Boot Camp, I am now running Windows XP on my MacBook. The GIS software I need for my class doesn't run on OSX. It's XP because a friend's computer programmer husband had an extra install disc, and plus it takes up less space. I downloaded Firefox and a free virus protector and that's about all I'm going to put on that side. It does have Minesweeper though! It's kind of freaky to boot up Windows, like an alternate universe or something.

I've been listening to The Black Parade (album, not song) by My Chemical Romance all weekend and it's fantastic. It came out in 2006 so they should have a new album soon. I also love Lee DeWyze's version of "Beautiful Day" from Idol. He says it's not in his genre; yeah, that's probably why I like it, buddy. I could do without the line about oil fields right now, though, JUST SAYING.
