Week One, Just About Finished

Okay, so here's the breakdown of my first week of fall semester classes...

My second to last semester at Western has started out with a bang I guess. 4 history class, and 1 Harry Potter class. The history classes are interesting, but I'm sorry, they don't compare to the coolness that is HP. Theories and questions were instantly abound when we walked in the door, and to say the least I can't wait to get passed these for three books we have to read to get to Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secrets, so on and so forth.

There's already been people shouting across the classroom "Snape's good!" "No! Snape's evil!" And the people who haven't read the books yet (yes there are a couple people in the class who haven't) are just confused as all hell. Sigh. To say the least I'm home and this is what's going to keep me sane this semester.

My other classes are interesting, but all lectures, etc.

Let's see. World Since 1945 my professor reminds me a bit of Steve Carell from the Daily Show, but he's no where near as funny. Oh well, what can you do? We've been discussing World War I and the movements of the troops and how Germany constructed itself during that time. Interesting, but most of the info was stuff I knew already.

Renaissance I fear my put me to sleep if the rest of the semester goes as the first two days had. It's a 400 level class and we actually spent the first day discussing how to critically read a document, what primary and secondary sources were, and then defining what is a renaissance. Umm...I think if we're in a 400 level class we should know this already, but ya know, that's just me.

Moving on to America Since 1877. I think I'm gonna like this class, even though I have a quiz already on Tuesday. But I can pass. We have to label a map with the fifty states, most of the rivers, and the oceans. I can pretty much do that with my eyes closed, although I may have to brush up on a couple of the rivers. No big. But we discussed the reprocussions of the Civil War and how the country handled itself during the Reconstruction. As we called it, it was "being 17 in 1877." Great concept. I think I'm gonna like this class.

Lastly Pop Art. Umm...really don't know about this class yet. I've only had it once so far, and we just basically looked over the syllabus. The professor seems a bit odd though. Oh well, those are the ones I usually get along with...save for Rachel Levine.

Speaking of which, I saw her in Dunbar the other day, and I swear she looks more cracked out of her mind every time I see her. I could smell the pot coming off of her from ten feet away.

What else happened this week? Meg started working at the library! Hoozah! Now more people to see when I work! Umm...the apartment is trashed to say the least, but Meg said she'd help me clean tonight after class and work, so yay to that because this place is beginning to smell like poo gas! What's up for this weekend? Hang out here, be girly and giggly with Meg and whoever else wants to join us, then possibly a trip to Lansing to see Stacey and an Imax movie. Anybody interested in coming if we do?

Okay. I'm gonna eat leftover Chinese for breakfast, throw clothes on and go to class. After that, cleaning a little, shower, then work til 5:00. Then clean til it's done, and afterwards...WHO KNOWS!! Call me this weekend!! :D

PS I think I finally finished my first draft for the prologue of Lore! Maybe finally I can start making some headway on this damn thing!

PSS Last night I exposed Peter to the Road to El Dorado! And he thought it was great! I love hearing him laugh. :D
